Personally, even I don't like the GC of 185 mm. I wish what I heard become false. But, I don't think it will be a disaster. A decade back, there was a car called Fiat Adventure which had a GC of 190 mm. Though that car was not a sedan, that was a great handler. With this kind of Fiat's reputation of building cars, I really don't think 185mm of GC in Linea will be a disaster.

I think a ground clearance of 185 mm is unlikely for the Linea. It'll require redesigning the suspension, and will compromise the dynamics and looks. The present gc of 161 mm is inadequate (as I reaffirm every other day), but 185 is taking things too far. The T-Jet's 170 is good enough, and that's probably what's coming.
Btw neither the Punto nor the Linea on the new Fiat Caffe site have any changes to the exterior, except for the alloys. Are we counting the cliched chickens, as we always seem to do with Fiat?

I don't think so. Improved AC, Delayed power windows are news to me. Also, my source told me that 195 mm for 1.4 but here it says 195mm for 1.2.

Correct link to the IAB - Fiat Linea MY2012, Punto MY2012 Features revealed

Interesting news is "It has revealed that a a car, smaller than Palio, powered by a 1-liter petrol engine is under development."

Another Link - IAB Exclusive - Fiat Linea, Punto MY2012 launch on January 3

Couldn't guess. Will it be a power window with sensors? If so, then its a good feature.

I guess that's the feature which allows the driver to operate the power windows for a minute or two after removing the key.

Are these features already available in the T-Jet+?
And, what is power window delayed operation - something anti-pinch safety?

The 185 mm GC is amazing, so is the improved AC. Linea was expected to get 36 new features, where are the remaining 29?

I wish they could somehow reduce the turning radius. All the fiat cars in India have had bigger turning radius than the competitors. I think when they adapt a car for India, reducing the radius should also be considered.

The current T-Jet does not have the mentioned features. However, the AC is super chill. Infact, the AC in the current TJets is an improved version over the other Linea/Punto models.

Power windows can be operated for about 60 seconds after switching the ignition off unless a door is opened. This is a standard feature in european puntos/lineas.

Looks like I made the right decision to go ahead and book the Punto 1.3 MJD EP+ on Friday. I had been sitting on the fence for sometime torturing myself about what I might miss out on. But none of these 'improvements' were really on my mind. I was expecting a spiffy interior, but I personally prefer black to beige.

A load off my mind
