re: Fiat Linea & Punto 2012 Models - Now Launched

Oh, peace, absolutely. I love the Linea and hence have always been keen on on it.
Just that I am a bit insensitive to the fuel price (as almost all my fuel expenses would get reimbursed from work). However if the wallet forces me to go for a Hatch, the Jazz as on date DOES appear to be a better product than the Punto overall.

All the more reason for FIAT to put their best foot forward when coming out with the facelift!! All eyes on 3rd Jan 2012

re: Fiat Linea & Punto 2012 Models - Now Launched

Well abhi is not entirely wrong especially when Sunny and Rapid have at least some safety features in lower models but both Linea and Punto's lower models are almost completely naked but well clothed highest model. Not just safety features but other features are almost absent in lower models.
It would be great for Fiat if they add some safety and comfort features in lower models and can compete with diesel Sunny and Rapid.

re: Fiat Linea & Punto 2012 Models - Now Launched

Guys.. We have completely deviated from the topic. There is no information on what are upgrades that are expected on Jan 3rd. Would appreciate if we post only useful information.

I had been to Tafe Access showroom today. The Fiat SA had no idea on what was expected. He was not even trying hard to sell a car to me. His only information was improvement of plastics and some changes to the grill in front.

Saw an advert - Punto starts at 3.63 lakhs now? Have they reduced the prices? Or are they clearing off existing stock before the launch of the 2012 models?

Thanks for the info

1. I'm not sure how much this would help
2. 16 inch alloys would be welcome and this could take the GC to 170 mm as in the T-Jet plus.
3. Very much required

If they could also throw in the leather upholstery and the rear discs for the Emotion pack, it would be very tempting indeed.

The current Ex Showroom price is Rs 438,377 (Bangalore) Base Variant. I spoke to Fiat about 3.63 Lacs and was told that it is just the cost of car minus all the taxes/insurances/octrois . This is and was a little confusing to me as well as I am in process of buying a Punto

I guess they are trying to pull a fast one. Please check with couple of more dealers and also the Fiat helpline. I expect 3.63L to be ex. showroom price.

Unfortunately it is not! It is just one of those marketing gimmicks to pull through the herds and then select a few of those. I had an elaborate discussions with the Fiat Folks hence assured.
In Bangalore most of the dealers are trying to pass on models as old as Feb 2011 make in the name of year end specials. I am sure there are not may literate people who hold knowledge of VIN(s)/ Chassis #.

re: Fiat Linea & Punto 2012 Models - Now Launched

Fiat is advertising benefits of upto Rs.1.4L for the Punto. So I guess 3.63L could be the OTR price of the base petrol variant after discount/benefits of Rs.1.4L.

re: Fiat Linea & Punto 2012 Models - Now Launched

New Punto and Linea are available in the month of January, both concorde and prerana motors confirmed this, my cousin who was about buy Punto has decided to wait and buy the facelifted version, the vehicle will be available by January end. The dealers are trying to sell off the old stocks but you dont get much discounts for a Punto MJD.

Anyone thinking of buying older versions because of discounts think again!

I just saw the new punto here in switzerland - the Punto Evo, which looks stunning and the interior quality was awesome!

If they can maintain the same levels of quality, and get the new multiAir engines, I am pretty sure fiat India will again find their mojo!
