Oops! I missed this thread and posted in the Punto thread

I got 13 sms from Fiat today in an hour stating there's a 55k discount on Fiat cars this September. Any idea what's this about?

I suspect it's the same offer they have for quite some time now.
Extended Warranty + RSA + Cash discount. Not sure if 1st Year insurance is added to that.

The "NEW" Car Price Check Thread - Track Price Changes, Discounts, Offers & Deals

Today's Bombay Times is carrying an advertisement. It looks like Optra's final countdown has started. Chevrolet has offered a LT without Airbags for a price lesser than LS. Rs.8.06L ex-showroom Thane i.e around Rs.9.10L on Road Mumbai.

They better close Aveo and keep this closer in that segment. Diesel will start selling reasonably well i guess.

Though the Magnum may not be garnering the numbers, if they do a price correction and keep making it, I feel that it would be able to keep the ball rolling, viably, like the Fiesta TDCI has been, for Ford.

Chevrolet Aveo @ 5.68L ex Thane

Have been regularly seeing the ad in the Times of India Mumbai about Chevrolet Aveo at a price tag of 5.68L ex Thane. The cost is for the base variant LS. As per the GM website the cost of Avoe LS model is 6.14 L so in effect a savings of Rs 46K . Attached is the ad.

The car is featured with
1) Plush leather interiors
2) 2 Din music system
3) remote key less entry
4) Electronically adjustable OVRM
5) Alloy wheels

Is this GM's final way of taking on the challenges esp the Limited editions Ford Fiesta which are positioned at 5.91L ex Thane. Although the Aveo one in the ad is not a Ltd editions. The ad is cleveryly positioned above or nearby the Ford Fiesta ltd edition ads.

This was one car which was in my list when I was scouting for a sedan. The -ves of the car which I felt was 1.4Ltr engine, clumsy gear box, poor handling.

More like a stock clearance sale I guess.
Its at the fag end of the lifecycle and the plug may be pulled soon.

Even at 6.5 + OTR Mumbai, not a good value buy.
There are better options.

if one is to buy a Aveo at 6.5, what in the world stops him from buying the Limited Fiesta ? Fiesta offers so much in terms of classy interiors and well "Power" ! But yea if this was the offer with CNG than it sure would been nyday better for someone concerned with FE !!

Many Chevy dealerships have U-VA and Aveo cars in their stock. I tried to negotiate with them for a 'Chance deal' on older stock, but could not drag it much and hence went in for a new BEAT.

If Chevrolet can work out something for these models and make them a VFM package, I am sure there would be a market for these cars.

At 8 Lacs ex-showroom it is a fantastic deal. It's a great car and this might start seeing sales rise unless they are just clearing the stock and stop making the vehicle.

They do have the 3 year Chevrolet Promise - so you are good for 3 years minimum. Resale is a downer here.

Add to it, the 3 years cashless ownership too.
