Hi All,

I have been offered Jetta Diesel TL at 17.5 lakhs (may be able to get another 10-15 k discount further), in Bangalore

Is this a good deal?

As far as I remember the TL costs about 18.65L OTR. TL is a bare bones variant. I would advise you to go for the CL which is about 20.5L OTR. There was close to 2L off (1.25L off + corp discount of 25K + insurance discount of 30K + another 20K possible with hard bargaining). So the CL at 18.5L is a pretty good deal.

Thank you very much Shivasuma.... am still debating between TL and CL... not sure if CL is giving me enough for the 2 lakh premium. For me the attraction of Jetta is the driving dynamics and safety... and on these TL and CL are on par...

You might want to cross-check once more about the airbags. I read somewhere in team-bhp that the TL now comes with 4 airbags compared to the 6 earlier. I was in the same dilemma and went for the CL. Good luck!

I bought a Jetta TL (diesel) last week. Got discount of around 1.75 lacs on Oct 2012 model. I carefully considered TL and CL differences, and decided to buy the TL for it's safety features and driving dynamics. You can buy a TL and spend the amount saved on a decent head unit (I purchased Blaupunkt Philadelphia 835) and speakers, better tyres, leather seats etc. The TL still comes with 6 airbags, I was told there is no change in the 2013 model either. In fact I was told that the HL now comes with 6 airbags instead of 8 earlier. Not sure how correct that info is.

As far as my memory goes , when I checked about a month back TL had 4 air bags, it doesn't have the side(seat) airbags I got a disc of 1.7lac on HL auto dec2012 manufacture just try pushing it a bit harder for 2lac

So finally i have booked my very first car(Ford Figo Petrol EXI) . I also went with Talera Ford and they have promised me 30th April as the delivery date. Hope they deliver on time!

My interaction with Talera has been good so far.My car was delivered on the promised time and even my first service experience with them was satisfactory.

Btw: Is this Talera ford dealership in Yerwada or in Nigdi?

Its in Yerwada. I am not very good at bargaining, i was only able to bring the price down by 25K. Anyways if their service is good i do not have any concerns. Total cost 4.82L OTR. I have one more question, is it wise to go for Alloys?

Though I believe there could have been more scope for discounts, but as you have already booked the car, push them for some freebies like seat covers, body cover, reverse parking sensors.

Alloys will be on your sole discretion. Alloys are lightweight as compared to steel rims and add to aesthetics as well.

Did you personally see the car with 4 airbags? What was the manufacturing month/year? My car was manufactured in Oct 2012 and I can confirm that it has 6 airbags.
