You will probably get free extended warranty, USB enabled Audio, and exchange bonus + Discounts of say, 10-15k on the Maruti alto K10.

(Zigwheels says: Only Cash Discount + Exchange Bonus ; Upto 20000 )

For the Estilo, again courtesy Zigwheels, Cash Discount + Exchange Bonus Upto 50000.

On the Santro, you could expect something like free ext. warranty, insurance, Accessories worth 10k minimum, and a cash discount of 5-10k; though according to Zigwheels present offers are, Exchange Bonus + Free Insurance + Corporate Discount Upto 22000)

Remember, discounts quoted straightaway are usually manufacturer discounts. You can push for free accessories and a minimal cash discount from the discount.

All the best with the purchase.

Maruti Suzuki hikes car prices by up to Rs 9,000

Three months after it had carried out a similar exercise, the country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India today said it has increased the prices of its vehicles across all models by up to Rs 9,000 to offset rising input costs,

"We have undertaken a price hike across the models ranging between 0.2 per cent to 2.4 per cent," a company official said.

It will translate into a minimum increase of Rs 1,100 and a maximum of Rs 9,000 depending on model, the official added.

The details of price hike across different models could not be ascertained.

The company sells 15 models in India -- from the entry level small car M800 with a starting price of Rs 1.97 lakh to the latest sports sedan Kizashi , which is priced up to Rs 17.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The official said the price rise is effective from April 4 across the country.

"This step was undertaken to offset rising input costs," the official said.

This is the second time in 2011 that the firm is increasing prices of its vehicles. In January the company had hiked prices by up to Rs 8,000 across models, except its newly launched compact car Alto K10.

The auto industry has been under pressure due to rising input costs and already Tata Motors has hiked prices of its passenger vehicles by up to Rs 36,000 from April 1.

Another big car maker Hyundai Motor India said it is also mulling taking a similar step.

"We are also considering price hikes but the quantum and the date has not been finalised yet. We need to take the step to offset rising input costs," an HMIL spokesperson said.

Thank god...I bought my car 10 days back. Feel lucky!

This hike was always on the cards as there were enough reports of input price rises.

re: The "NEW" Car Price Check Thread - Track Price Changes, Discounts, Offers & Deals

I was told by local Mitsubishi dealer that price hike has not been implemented by Govt. so far. It will be effective 14 April.
The old price will continue for bookings now and delivery from factory within next 10 days.
Current Cedia Sports on-road price is 10.72 Lac in Pune.
New price expected to be around 11.4 Lacs.

Are corporate discounts standard across dealers? For my Vento, 2 dealers gave me two different figures -- 16k and 14k. So should I ask for 16k at the other dealer also?

IMO, the corporate discount should not change identical across dealers. May be the quotes you got are not for the same variant? VW Downtown quoted 16K and 14K for TDI HL and P HL, respectively.

hi nileshch,

are they offering corporate discounts for Vento already with waiting period still lingering at 3 monts time? if so i need to bargain with my sales rep regarding the same.

corporate discounts must be same across the dealers, they will quote the least and you may need to bargain till you are offered the best.

Free insurance, ~13k, is available on Santro GL-Plus. On road price bangalore is 4.15 lakhs. So with free insurance it should be ~4 lakhs.

Price hike is rumoured from 15th April.

re: The "NEW" Car Price Check Thread - Track Price Changes, Discounts, Offers & Deals

Just came back from Sundaram for my friend's Spark enquiry. New Spark LT, on road price is 3.9 lakhs (non-metallic) in Bangalore. LS is 3.65. Extra in LT are - rear PW, rear defogger, front fog lamps, music system, manual central locking. LT looks more VFM now than LS. The old LT is available for 4.2 lakhs.

Re: Is HONDA feel the heat from New Fiesta / ANHV / SX4 Disel / Vento etc.

The competition from VW Vento in last few months and the turbulence ANHC will face with the new launches slated in the next few weeks, have finally made HSIL sit up and realize that they cannot continue to demand a premium forever. Thanks to the new launches, bringing world-class cars to Indian market. Finally, Indians are treated par and no more older generations relegated for developing markets. Good to see the markets mature and customers spoiled with choice.

Re: Is HONDA feel the heat from New Fiesta / ANHV / SX4 Disel / Vento etc.

Honda is a very no-frills brand , that is to say they do not have many offers and also are very very tough to negotiate w.r.t freebies , discounts when you purchase the car. That is the way they are. So they do not have many of these promotions but still the value of their cars is so solid and developed over the years that I feel they do not need so much publicity like other brands. A person who buys a Honda knows exactly what he wants.
As far as feeling the heat , yes they must be. But they have been at the game for a long time and they know there are always competitors. Still they have managed to be the top brand in their class and will continue to do so since their product is so robust and stong

Re: Is HONDA feel the heat from New Fiesta / ANHV / SX4 Disel / Vento etc.

After March sales Honda lost its last leadership title, which belonged to CITY.
C/C+ segment is certailnly getting attractive. All other has diesel variant as well. I think along with VWV, ANHV, NFF and SX4; If linea 1.6 MJD comes it will certainly kick honda at bottom of C segment.

Re: Is HONDA feel the heat from New Fiesta / ANHV / SX4 Disel / Vento etc.

Honda, as compared to the other brands does not need any offers, ads etc. They deserve what they are and the price tag what they give is well weighted. I had a chance to compare 9 hatches and to my surprise I found the Jazz from Honda is worth for that price. Their After Sales Service is well refined too. Their product is so well finished that they do not need any promo to push their them. As said above only a Honda customer know what it is. If you see comparison tests on Overdrive, most of the times Honda cars are voted the best.

What I can say is if any celebrity is promoting a HONDA car, nobody will look at the promoter, only the car is enough for the attraction. I myself would like to focus the SLR on the car as depth of field.

Re: Is HONDA feel the heat from New Fiesta / ANHV / SX4 Disel / Vento etc.

As of today (March Sales data), Honda is not the leader in any of the segment it offers products in. That IMHO is not a good situation to be in.

CRV - Forgotten
Accord - Hit badly by Superb
Civic - Too good looking. But not enough for survival
City - Must be cursing the Vento
Jazz - Wake up Honda! Curse yourselves

I am not against any Honda fans (myslef included), but these facts disappoint.

While the Vento may have dethroned the City, it is possible that both these will fight it neck-to-neck for some time.

Honda must really be having its fingers crossed as it is going to bank hugely on the Brio. But reports from friends who've seen it in Thailand, say that the interiors are exactly opposite (boring) of what the exteriors appears.
