Planning to get the Toyota Fortuner 4x2 AT.
DSK Toyota-Pune is giving accessories of your choice worth 20k with the car. Any idea if there are any additional discounts to be had on the Fortuner?

In case the dealer is calculating the tax on discounted price, then he is hood winking. The RTO will calculate the taxes on the vehicle's full price irrespective of the discount you have from the dealer.

Generally a 'turn of the calendar year' discount is much higher than the routine discount on the vehicle in question. You can weigh the 40K discount against a 2014 manufactured car in the colour of your choice and decide if the 40 Ks are worth the compromise on the colour and any other features that you may want but are not getting in the offered vehicle.

i think you got it the other way round buddy

RTO charges you tax based on the Invoice. the original price of the car has no consequence on the tax. You have to pay according to the invoiced value only. If the dealer is charging you tax according to the original value (without discounts) then rest assured you are being taken for a ride

The tax charged whether on full value or on discounted value is deposited in the treasury and a receipt is issued for the said amount. Dealer does not get anything from that amount so there is no one taking anyone for a ride.

As for the value to be considered for tax, you would do well to check with the RTO.

There is a Toyota add in today's Bangalore Deccan Herald newspaper listing deals by Vehicle; it only says attractive finance options for Fortuner.

If Santa Fe has an impact on Fortuner sales, there may be some better offers in the near future.

My nearest Dealer (Salem) is giving Rs.7000 worth of accessories for W6 and Rs.11000 for W8. No cash discounts.

The Santa Fe pricing seems a bit over the top along with no pointers on the maintenance costs. Probably may not affect the Fortuner sales?

Usually there are no discounts on the Fortuner at all. Guess 20k free accessories seems good. They did indicate that they would be giving some more in this form, but would absolutely not offer any discount on the car price at all.

Thanks,
AJ

In market for a hatchback, the celerio auto has a waiting period of 5 months as per the staff at Sagar automobiles @ bannerghatta road.
Is it that much?

Also checked the grand i10 at advaith hyundai, the sportz variant (solid color) would set us back by 4.9 lacs, no freebies attached. Any better offer or chance of getting a better deal at other dealership?

re: The "NEW" Car Price Check Thread - Track Price Changes, Discounts, Offers & Deals

hey guys have been in contact with Volkswagen Delhi west showroom from past three months regarding regarding the Jetta though had a decent experience in the showroom but the wierd thing is that from past three months when ever i ask for offers on jetta highline A/T their answer is always "saarr the jetta is not availible" . I even asked about the pre-facelifted version "standing in their showroom" its the same answer. on the day of my visit they offered a test drive but now are saying no test drive is available for jetta , vento tsi and polo tsi. are they taking me for a ride?

Does anybody know of other showrooms in delhi offering any deals on jetta highline a/t?

Try VW North; the West one seems to be having some problems with VW lately. Heard a rumour that they are looking to close down. Also seen many advertisements of VW minus the Worldclass address.
