Friends,

I'm looking for Ford Classic Titanium (Diesel). Got quotes from various dealers in Bangalore.

The On-road comes to 8.62 lakhs through Friends & Family referral program as my friend's relative is working with ford.
3 & 4th year warranty + RSA is around Rs 22K. Zero dep insurance thrown in for around Rs 4K extra.
Almost all dealers quoted the same amount.

No other discounts offered. Max I could get is some accessories like Rear Parking sensors etc on hard bargain.

Is it a good deal? Is there any offers running on for Ford Classic (Diesel), like 1 year insurance free etc?

Are they pushing the sales of this model? I made an enqiury today, and they said the factory has a production halt on 20 June.

Do you guys think its a decent deal? Can I sell it off after 3 years or later as a 2014 registered vehicle? How much would be the drop in resale for car manufactured in previous year?

Drop in resale value will mostly be equal to the amount saved now. You will only gain interest on 50k saved now, that too if you are lucky.

My advise dont go for this car reason being Dzire is the highest selling car in india for so many months its really odd that the dealer has a Nov 13 manufactured car. I smell a rat here so not worth 50 K discount so better go for a new car also this car might be lemon or accident car during transportation

I am interested in buying a Swift ZXI in near future. But fail to understand, why MSIL is offering less discount on the petrol Swift compared to diesel, when petrol cars sell much less than their diesel seblings. Could anyone enlighten me.

Two reasons that I can think of:
* They might have a bigger inventory of unsold diesel cars which they want to dispose of soon.
*They might have a better profit margin on the diesel and can afford to give a bigger discount.

Diesel prices are going to be completely deregulated in the near future and that will affect the demand for diesels. Suzuki is simply reducing inventory.
