Negative. This is for the 1 Series.

-The 520d is going for approx. 8L off
-The 530d is going for approx. 4L off
-The 3 series is going for approx. 4-6L off
-The 1-series is going for approx 1-2L off

These are all Mumbai registered cars, and should hold up at all Mumbai dealerships.

I'm currently looking into a 5er so I'm the *most* clued up about it.

Asked about the 1er for someone on this thread, and kept the 3er as an alternative option to the 5er.

Not interested in the X-es so I have no data on them.

Will be going back to BMW to finish off the deal on the 5er on Monday/Tuesday, so please do let me know if there's a specific model you'd like me to check whilst I'm there.

Stiggy, further to your updated discounts on the above, would it be possible to find out what are the discounts offered on the X3 - 20d Xline variant.
What is the final OTR for the 5er(520d) working out to, ex Mumbai.
Thanks in advance. Cheers!

Hi Zimbly,

My guy @ Infinity Worli said that the X3 doesn't have any "official" discounts so to speak, however, one can expect a couple of Lac off as per usual.

I've actually just gotten off the phone with him, and have finally booked my 520d for delivery on the 31st of this month.

My car (520d Luxury Line, Imperial Blue + Oyster Black Interiors) was booked for a final OTR price of 56 Lac. This includes BSI (5yr/60k), BMW Assure and Roadside Assistance.

Here's the interesting bit, in September, there was a price hike in the cars, which means all pre-Sep 5ers can be had for around 54-55L OTR w/ BSI + Assure. I was about to pull the trigger on the last pre-Sep 5er with the Oyster Black interior (Black Sapphire Metallic car), but what can I say, the heart wanted Imperial Blue, so I paid 1L more for it.

Negotiated hard, but I'm now sitting satisfied with the purchase. Cheque handover and paperwork to be done tomorrow! Will be posting more about the purchasing experience in an ownership thread.

(Sidenote: The cars now come with a Spare Wheel! )

Cheers!

Hey Stiggy, Congrats on the 5er, imperial blue with oyster looks amazing on the car. All in all worth the additional 1lac.
Thanks for the update on the x3. will try my hand at negotiation, else will send my wife to do the bidding on my behalf

Sounds great! Good luck with negotiations.

I'd highly recommend Infinity Worli. I've had nothing but exemplary treatment. Really great stuff. I haven't actually visited the showroom at all, I just made a call and the car was brought down, and negotiations were conducted in my living room and over the phone! Tomorrow, I'll be signing the contract and handing over the cheque, again in my living room.

My total discount works out to something like 15% off the OTR price. I'm unsure you'll be able to snag something that high though, as the X3 has just been refreshed (or so I'm told). Might be worth waiting until later this month or the next so you can pick up one of the 14MY cars that dealers are happy to push off before the 15MYs start coming in.

Is Handling Charge still being collected?

Is the Handling Charge still being collected by the dealer? Is there any way to bypass this Handling Charge?

Nope. No way to bypass it. It's still illegal but still going on. What you can do is to try and get discount on accessories and insurance etc.

Under the Don't postpone joy scheme, BMW is offering a 'buy today, pay after one year' offer. Do you have any information about that?

Addition of a spare wheel is great news, it probably removes the main reason for not buying a BMW in India.

Sorry, no clue about that, I paid in cash in one lump-sum.

Feel free to call Infinity Worli though, I had the absolute best experience with them. I'm sure they'd be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Good luck!

I negotiated hard on Elantra. I got a total 80K discount (including ex-bonus of 25K) from HMP. Can someone help me understand if there are better deals on offer in Chennai?

Hello
I am planning to buy the Reton Rx7, I know it is taking a lot of risk with a 15 year old Merc Engine but then I have decided to take the plunge. I am currently based in Gurgaon and would request your inputs as to if I would get any good discounts as the SUV is hardly sold. Request your inputs.
Regards

What risk? the IC engine design itself is now 150+ years old yet it moves the entire World. The Koreans are masters of picking a proven pice of technology and then evolving their product around it and Rexton is no different. I am sure you will enjoy your new ride.
