A dear friend of mine is in the market for the Duster. He is inclined towards the Duster RxL AWD & the price quoted by the dealer is as follows;

Vin 2014:
Ex Showroom- 11,91,185/-
Insurance Zero Dep- 42,542/-
RTO- 1,53,922/-
Accessories- 15,311/- (optional including mats, mud flap, 3M Care pack, steraring wheel cover & car body cover)
Total- 13,13,630/-

Vin 2015:
Ex Showroom- 12,80,668/-
Insurance Zero Dep- 45,568/-
RTO- 1,64,580/-
Accessories- 15,311/- (optional including mats, mud flap, 3M Care pack, steraring wheel cover & car body cover)
Total- 15,06,127/-

These are on road Pune PCMC prices.

Need help with the current available offers/discounts for the Duster AWD. I'm yet to negotiate with the dealer but need to close the booking in a day or two max as these offers are valid till Feb 28th only.

IIRC, I saw an advertisement for Duster AWD (4x4). Today only.

It claimed an ex showroom price of 10.99 lac in New Delhi.

It is for Rxl Adventure edition. MY 2014 only.

Applicable for bookings and deliveries till 28'th February 2014.

You are definitely being taken for a ride here. My friend just picked up a RXZ AWD 2014 model for 13.5 OTR. The RXL AWD 2014 was available for 12.25 OTR and was almost booked when we came to know it has only driver side airbag and hence went for the RXZ.

The 10.99L advertisement is apparently a 85ps AWD variant. God knows since Renault has really made the variants of Duster very confusing with multiple special editions and what not.

@car_crazy1400 thanks for the info, we did bring this up with the dealer and his reply was the 10.99L is for delhi where as the price for Pune is 11.91L. This huge a difference is difficult to digest & will check with other dealer today.

@drmohitg thanks, your inputs though about a buy in Delhi will definitely help us negotiate the pricing with the dealer here in Pune.

Also on checking with the dealer he stated that the AWD is only available in 110ps. We were keenly looking at the RxZ AWD but that was quoted a shade above 14.09L & gowing to 13.1L for the RxL itself is a stretch for my friend. But if the RxZ would come close to 13.5L we can or should I say I can definitely get my friend to go that extra 0.5L.

All in all thanks, and would it be possible to let me in on the accessories or freebies offered along with the deal?

This is false for sure. I am located in Vadodara currently and the advertisement for the same came in Time of India, Vadodara. The advertisement specifically mentioned that this price is applicable pan India until stocks last. I forwarded the same to my friend in Delhi who was then told by the dealer that this is some 85ps variant. Even I was surprised with this information as there is no 85ps variant that comes with Awd according to me. So might be possible that even my friend was taken for a ride.

What is the Road tax in Pune? My friend bought the car from Gurgaon and road tax there is 10%. Also in the price of 12.3L for RXL AWD and 13.5L for RXZ AWD, we also got 2 years extended warranty. The 0% dep insurance we bought from outside and its price is also included in the above mentioned OTR prices by me. Costed around 30k.

Renault dealers are a bunch of morons and nothing else. If there is no 85PS variant in Awd then for sure the RXL should cost 10.99L as advertised.

Walked into the Renault showroom the other day to check out the Duster.
Was offered 1.2 Lakh discount on all 2014 models.
And Insurance at Rs. 1/- for 2015 models.

@drmohitg & @mdsaab will talk to the dealer accordingly & reconfirm based on your advice. As for the road tax I have been told that it is 12% for vehicles costing above a million in Pune. A quick check online shows the road tax to be between 7% & 12% in various articles online.

I would like to share Dec 2014 prices (ex show room in Bangalore) and their discounts, which I collected when i was looking out for a new car.

There were huge discounts offered by the manufacturer to clear 2014 stock.
Maybe that helps you in bargaining 2014 manufactured car purchases with the dealers.

Also Nissan had offered 50000 INR discount on exshowroom across all variants.

What discount can be expected on a Linea T Jet emotion in Chennai? My friend is looking to buy one, and the dealer (Ramkay Fiat) quoted 11.2 lac with max 6k corporate discount.
Did consider a Sep 2014 model briefly which was offered at 9.7 lac but it was dropped because of a misaligned rear door which looked like a slightly botched up repair job.
