Checked out the bolt and zest at U motors, pune.

2015 zest, all variants, have 15k cash discount, 25k exchange and insurance worth 28-30k free. Comes to around 67k

Bolt xt has 40k cash and 40k exchange. Other variants have 20k cash plus 25k exchange.

Drove the revotron. Was quite ok but family at the rear reported lot of road noise so inspite of some good discounts, I am in two minds.
Bolt revotron xt on road pune after discount came to 6.25 and zest at 6.75.

Strange thing was inspite of me being interested in the Bolt, I was again and again asked to check the zest.

Ciaz has discount upto 28000 with corporate offers on 2016 models.. Nothing on the city..

Yesterday, I went to book Ciaz and Maruti authorized dealer did offer me some discount but he was not ready to give it in writing on the order form and invoice. He said full amount will be written on order form and invoices and discount will be refunded back to me through check after full payment. I found this fishy and walked away.

Can anyone tell me, if this is how it works? Personally I don't know this dealer and I don't want to trust them.

This is definitely fishy. As far as I understand, discount amount is deducted from the final amount you have to pay and NOT refunded later on. If the dealer isn't giving this in writing, he may later deny of having given you such a promise to refund.

It would be better if you can name the dealership so that other readers can double check before making any purchase from them.

Car manufacturers discourage excess discount given by dealers from their margin hence an audit happens . to cover that they ask you to pay less down payment and that is your effective discount. Happened to me and i got a hefty discount on my purchase

I would say, stay away. We had a similar experience in another domain where the sales guy had promised my father that he would pay back some %age of the sale value after he gets his commission & that never happened.

If you are keen to go ahead with the discounted deal, ask the sales guy to keep the payback amount in cash on the desk to give out when you sign the deal.

I bought Brio VMT in 2015-Dec last week from Brigade Honda. They offered Rs.20000 cash discount and Rs.10000 accessories. My consultant was Mr.Jagdeesh and Mr.Harry.

But it is better to take insurance from outside and say NO to accessories. They made me fool on insurance part. I paid Rs.20000 for Honda B2B Insurance (initially I told them I will take it from outside, but they convinced me to go for Honda insurance), but at the time of delivery I noticed that they got the Insurance from Oriental for Rs.13000 and said Rs.7000 is their margin. Also I am yet to receive Brio accessories siting "out of stock".
