Re: The "NEW" Car Price Check Thread - Track Price Changes, Discounts, Offers & Deals

BMW is offering Rs 2 lakh cash discount on the 5 and 3GL.
But the actual discount comes out to be Rs 1.1 lakhs as they also charge Rs90000 as handling/logistics charges.

Is that it? We used to hear of massive discounts to the tune of 6-10 lakhs earlier.
Is it the right time to buy or should one wait and look for discounts later on in the year?

Charging the customer with logistical/handling charges is banned in India.

Apart from that, yes discounts are pretty low owing to BMW not keeping any stock with dealers and instead making to order/keeping stock in factory.

Re: The "NEW" Car Price Check Thread - Track Price Changes, Discounts, Offers & Deals

My friend is planning to buy a top end Safari/Harrier in Bangalore ... we met the SA yesterday and he says there are no discounts at all, may be he can work something out in the insurance... And delivery will be in 6 to 8 weeks depending on the color..
Its pretty much the same across all dealers in Bangalore...

Just checking if anybody got a better deal/discount and earlier delivery in the recent past..

Hello Kiran, I have received the same information from a dealer in Pune. No discounts and adjustments would be done in insurance with delivery period 6-8 weeks (though he promised he would try for Diwali delivery but I am not sure). Need to work out the details with them.

Did you get info on the insurance provider?

Attached price list. I will most likely go for XZ manual red color. Dual tone highlighted seems expensive to me.

The Gold AMC is not on offer and extended warranty is only for 1 year additional along with standard 2 years.

Does it make sense to buy Jazz. I believe new jazz should be due anytime soon.

Well that may be the case however the charging of logistics charges is still going on with different dealers. As I have enquired with dealers I have found that BMW dealer is charging 95k, Volvo dealer is charging 89k as per the proforma invoice.

There is a fine line of logistical charges as Ex-showroom mean Price at the showroom and there is no other charges to be added to that price and the dealer is obligated to register the automobile before delivery. However some of the dealers are stating that if we add the logistics charges to the ex-showroom then registration charges and insurance would also be charged to the higher amount therefore we have kept it separate.

There are Supreme court orders on this as well as notification issued by some state transport deptt. that charging of such charges is illegal but the same is not implemented uniformly in India.

Agreed. The practice has been going on and I've seen this. But, why don't you just get a hold of someone in the RTO and let them know if such practices are going on? Have you asked the dealer to remove them?

Dealers cannot add it to ex-showroom price, since that is published by the manufacturer and has to be readily made available to customer on their website or on demand. In fact for lot of RTO's like Chandigarh, the ex-showroom prices are picked from Vahan portal and road tax calculated automatically. Manufacturers are now obligated to update their ex-showroom prices on Vahan portal for RTO purposes.

I agree with you but what I meant was that nowadays some of the manufacturers are including the same in the Ex Showroom prices and hiking the Ex showroom prices and not levying the same separately. It is in this context that registration and insurance are also paid on these components. Further due to competition some of the dealers may be charging different amounts and passing on some of the amount to the consumer. Let me take 2-3 quotes from other dealers in Delhi and compare to the quotes I have obtained from the ones in Gurugram.

These are a few quotes I have received. Should I hold out for more with the year end approaching. However it seems that the companies are struggling for production so the discounts may not be forthcoming even in the year end.

BMW 2 Series 220i M Sport (petrol) : 44.1l (OTR, includes a component towards logistics 95k), immediate delivery, festive discount 3l and exchange bonus 1l.

BMW X1 Xline petrol : 44.2 (OTR, includes a component towards logistics 95k), immediate delivery, festive discount 2.5l, exchange bonus 1l.

Volvo XC 40 : 44.71l (OTR, includes a component towards logistics 89k, there is a special discount of 3.26l festive), waiting 3 months, no exchange bonus

Mercedes A Class A200 : 45l (OTR, festive discount 1.5l) no component of logistics, immediate delivery, no exchange bonus

Mercedes GLA petrol : 49.2l (OTR, no discount), waiting period around 1-2 months, no exchange bonus

Also got the rough quotes for Audi A4 Premium Plus : 45l OTR and Q2 Premium: 34 l however did not pursue the same as Q2 was smaller than the requirements and A4 was a tad too large and they are not offering much discounts as the stocks have depleted

These quotes are super helpful. Thank you very much. Are these for Gurgaon or Delhi registration?
Also, would you happen to know what are the conditions for exchange bonus for BMW?

I recently purchased a 330i and traded in a 320d from 2014. I was offered a 1.75L exchange bonus. If you simply trade in a BMW at a BMW dealership you can avail the exchange bonus. I don't think it matters what model you are exchanging or whether it was first owned or not. You can shop around as different dealerships (Infinity vs Navnit in Mumbai) were offering different bonuses.

Well I have taken all the quotes with HR (Gurgaon) registration. The BMW exchange bonus depends on the vehicle being bought. Currently they had a scheme of 1lakh exchange bonus for a non- premium category (I presume they must be having some categorization and the amount of bonus may be dependent on the same). This exchange bonus is extra over the valuation of the vehicle.

Re: The "NEW" Car Price Check Thread - Track Price Changes, Discounts, Offers & Deals

Recently booked a S-Cross Zeta A/T in Delhi. The standard offer from Maruti is 15k + 5k corporate as suggested by them on the call. The dealer finally offered 30k extra over it, taking the total to 50k.
There is additional 25k, i believe, if someone has an exchange vehicle.

Bird automotive has quoted an 1.5l discount on the 330i
Hi, what is the ex-showroom price you were quoted?
