BMW has increased the prices of some of its models by up to Rs. 2 lakh.

The BMW X5, 7-Series and M340i get the highest price hike. Prices of the X5 30d xLine, 40i M Sport, 730Ld DPE Signature, 740Li M Sport have been increased by Rs. 2 lakh.

Prices of the BMW 3-Series range have gone up by Rs. 50,000, while the 3-Series Gran Limousine now commands a premium of up to Rs. 1.60 lakh.
Are they looking to price themselves out of the market? Given their reluctance for discounts, the base 3 series is now retailing at exactly the same price now as 6GT 2 years back. While inflation is a reality, 50% hike is just stretching it.
Can foresee difficult days ahead for their dealers.
Other 2 Germans (especially Audi) will lap up the opportunity.

Did Audi not hike prices by 3% on the 1st of January 2022 also? This is a massive increase. Are they again going to price high and give massive discounts?

I feel like sales have picked up a bit and they are looking to make the most of it.

Re: The "NEW" Car Price Check Thread - Track Price Changes, Discounts, Offers & Deals

I have got offer of GLC 220D demo car(2021 model) with 3000 Kms driven for 72L (regular price is 80L).

Is it a good price? demo car worth the risk?

Any suggestions. Thanks.

GLC or GLE? 80 L is too high for a GLC. And a demo car should be strictly avoided and unless you get it 20-25% cheaper, i would not go for it.

Re: The "NEW" Car Price Check Thread - Track Price Changes, Discounts, Offers & Deals

Just got an update from BMW SA that further price hike is coming in April. I'm not sure if this is just a tactic to accelerate sale due to March end. That said, price hikes every quarter seem to have become a norm for lot of manufacturers. While input costs might have gone up, I feel everyone wants to cash in with the increased demand and limited supplies due to chip shortage.

If you plan to keep the car for long and resale is not in top priority list, this seems good. Especially, considering the current supply-demand situation where there are hardly any discounts on the Octavia. There is no major difference between the 2021 vs 2022 models too.

Does anyone know here how much corporate discount do we get? I checked online and for the Grand i10 NIOS, it says corporate discount "upto 5000". I want to know under what condition will I get the max 5K discount?

Depends on which slab is your company listed in with Hyundai. I experienced this when I was making my purchase 2yrs ago. A subsidiary company of my firm was listed with Mahindra - difference being the words 'India pvt ltd' in two names. I didn't get any corporate discount.

Re: The "NEW" Car Price Check Thread - Track Price Changes, Discounts, Offers & Deals

All the taxes and extreme price hikes; even in the used car segment in Kerala; has made me decide to go for an electric car and later buy a luxury ice car. I got a quote for the new MG ZS ev for 28.8l onroad. Haven't asked for any discounts yet because I doubt they will offer any for a brand new model.

Insurance from the dealership tie up with aditya birla seems very steep at 1.12l. Can I take the insurance from outside? I can't find the ZS EV model on policybazaar which is where I normally compare insurance rates. Are 3rd party insurance companies not offering policies for EVs yet?

Road tax is 1.3l. I remember hearing something about road tax being free for EVs. Is this only for other states?

There is also some essentials kit being offered for 13k which includes carpets and mudflaps and sill plates. Don't these all already come included in the car? Can I safely refuse it?

Just like road taxes, EV exemptions vary in different states.

Thought Kerala would make it free? Though it is way less than the tax on an ICE vehicle. Autorickshaws have it free, but rest all EVs have a fixed 5% tax rate.

Roughly, you may pay 1.3l as road tax, while an ICE vehicle with the same ex-showroom price may have to shell out ₹5.xx lakhs as road tax.

Check with multiple outlets. Apparently, the GLC 220d is quite abundant in the market and there are a huge number of demo options available across the country. You could get a better price, lower mileage or even the colour to match your needs.

I was quoted an OTR of 70.6 last month for a brand new GLC 220d MY2021 (ex-showroom of 58.9L) A demo car with 3000kms on the odometer should be 66-67L at most.

Prices have increased for the MY2022 models by 3%-4% and I am not sure if any MY2021 cars are left though.
