Yes the Virtus is also carrying about a Lakh rupees worth of discount.
City always has some offer or the other. We got the City IVT about 5-6 months back for a net 16 Lakhs on road Delhi.

Is TCS calculated on ex-showroom or ex-showroom less discount.
Example:
If the ex-showroom price is 13 lakhs and the discount offered is Rs 1 Lakh. Will 1% TCS be calculated on 13 lakhs or 12 lakhs?

I assume RTO charges will always be on ex-showroom and not on discounted ex-showroom price?

In my case at least, the discounts were applied on the ex-showroom price. So TCS was deducted post discounts. In your case, it should be 1% of 12L. RTO & Life tax charges do not change.

Did you finalize the deal yet? What's the current offer to you? I am in same boat as you with the Kodiaq. As per my information the deals offered by Delhi and around dealers are quite agressive than in rest of the states. Have you booked the Kodiaq on 24th April offer day?

The current offer is 2.6 lacs off with 3 year service package and 5th year extended warranty.
They do offer good match on exchanges though. This is where things have a better leeway.
The dealer will also match the insurance quote that we provide.

You are right on the Delhi dealers. In South, it's nowhere sweet as the ones we see here

Did you try for 4 year SVP and 6 year extended warranty? I have asked them to include it into the offer. They are in denial mode but I have made it a deal breaker for myself if they don't offer it. I shall update once they agree, if at all they agree.

A relative of mine is finalizing a deal on a Škoda Kushaq MY 24 in Purnea, Bihar. He is being offered the following:


For the 1.5 TSI MT Style:
- Cash discount: ₹30,000
- Service maintenance package for 3 years or 45,000 km, whichever is reached sooner.

For the 1.5 TSI MT Elegance:
- Service maintenance package

Should we go ahead with this deal, or is there scope for more negotiation? Since BHPian dipen mentioned Škoda is controlling discounts at the company level, has anyone else received a better deal recently?

Please hold. Check internet, the news says total discount worth 2.5 lakhs on Skoda Kushaq. 1.5 lakh should be cash discount minimum. The car is due for facelift and do not buy without big discount.

You are getting practically nothing in above deal. Also the insurance cost is to be negotiated. You can get good insurance with all cover in 65-75 thousands.

Thank you Wanderers for your help. I spoke to the Skoda dealership, and they mentioned that the offer is for MY '23 cars. Unfortunately, the dealership in Purnea doesn't have any MY '23 stock left for the Kushaq.

For insurance, I was checking with Acko and received a quote of approximately 40K with all add-ons and an IDV of around 21 lakh.

However, we have decided to put the purchase on hold as I was not aware that a facelift was around the corner. Thank you for informing about that

MG dealer said 50k exchange bonus only on top end variant.
Tata dealer said 25k discount on top end variant only.
Another offer he made was a 1 lakh discount on a Dec 2023 variant over a phone call.

Well the Kushaq is only going to get ADAS in update with no big change to exterior or interior. This will come with increase price and no discount. If you do not need ADAS (which I guess will not be of much use in India as such) I would suggest to go for current model with discount.
Why don't you try Patna or Ranchi Dealer. In Bihar you can register in any RTO as long you have a Bihar address. Patna dealer can get you registered in Patna itself (with Purnea address) which would be good from resale point of view as well. Also Patna dealer will give you good discount knowing you are coming from other town.

Hey all, I recently booked a Skoda Slavia 1.5 MT Elegance Edition here in Rajasthan (Bhilwara dealer) and I got it for an on-road price of 18.11 lacs.

Here's a break down of the prices:

1. Ex-Showroom Price: 17,53,400.00
2. Corporate Discount: 28,449.00
3. Net Ex-Showroom Price after Discount: 17,24,951.00
4. TCS: 17,250.00
5. Insurance: 44,000.00
6. Essential Accessory Kit: 8,799.00
7: RTO (BH Registration): 25,000.00

Net On-Road Price (including SMP, excluding extended warranty for 5th and 6th years): 17,95,000.00

I asked the dealership to include extended warranty for 5th and 6th years in 17.95, but they said it's a price for coverage 5/6 yrs down the line and they reduced it slightly so the total then becomes 18.11 lacs which includes everything.

The insurance is probably on the higher side, but I do not want to opt for an insurance from external party since I live in a different district and in case of claims, I'd want the dealership to handle everything for me.

I'm thinking of skipping the essential accessory kit. Is it advisable or should I just get it?

Thank you, Wanderers, for sharing the details about the Kushaq Facelift. We don't need ADAS in India much, and I'm pretty sure my relative will always keep it switched off.

I called a dealer in Patna, and he said he can source a White Kushaq Style 1.5 MT (MY'23) and offered a cash discount of ₹1.2 lakh, along with a complimentary 3-year service maintenance package and a 5-year extended warranty. My relative doesn't qualify for the corporate discount or exchange bonus. We will be purchasing insurance on our own or having the dealer match it (the dealer is open to both options).

Are there any additional negotiations I should consider pushing for?

Looks good but you can push for additional cash discount taking total to Rs 1.5 lakhs. Most important please do a detail Pre Delivery Inspection (PDI) as this is MY23 car. It should be brand new and with Odometer not more than 25 km.

If date of manufacturing is before Jun-23, ask for oil change. Give counter offer and wait for a day for them to revert. 100% he will revert. Keep cool and you would get more discount. Just remember you can always go back after few days and take the offer as there are many cars (not the last piece )
