Re: The "NEW" Car Price Check Thread - Track Price Changes, Discounts, Offers & Deals

There are massive differences both look wise and feature wise in the facelift version. Put them side by side and the pre-facelift version looks ancient. Doubt anyone would skip the current version for a meagre 1-2L difference on a 30L car.

Hello Aditya,

I am looking for a Tucson. Do you only deal with Kia? Or with Hyundai too?

Thanks.

It's going to be almost one year since Tata has launched the facelift of the Harrier and Safari. Yet, they are unable to clear the stock of MY2023 models?

I wouldn’t call a 4% discount as a massive discount for any car, let alone for a model which has been extensively updated (visually) in the facelift.

We are sitting at the latter part of 2024. Any MY2023 car, even the current generation ones, need to be discounted to 8-10% for it to move soon.
A pre-facelift model needs even higher discounting.

Maybe it’s this lack of discounting which still accounts for the MY2023 stocks being unsold.

Re: The "NEW" Car Price Check Thread - Track Price Changes, Discounts, Offers & Deals

These discounts really mean nothing if we consider the quantum of price hikes Tata have done in the last couple of years and tried leveraging the shortfall in supply of XUV700 & ScorpioN.

Price & discounts aside and lets also ignore the niggles, what is up with the price of spare parts of the Harrier, my brother-in-law who drives a Harrier which is >3 years old, driven around 85k kms was quoted in excess of 80k for clutch & flywheel replacement.

Recently, the fuel pump was also changed, price of a new one was >50k (excl. labour & taxes), we decided to take the local mechanic route for both the services which also wasn't much cheaper due to prices of these parts as OES parts were not available. These prices are exorbitant considering what Mahindra charges for similar parts.

Hey all, in the past, Skoda has had their 24 year sale on March 24 and May 24, but does anyone have information as to whether there will be a sale on June 24 as well?

If a dealer is still not able to clear a pre facelift 2023 model in mid 2024, my best bet is that these have reliability issues and were rejected by customers during PDI. Also a 1.5L discount on a 25 Lac car seems low. Just additional 5-7L and you can get a whole new model.

Hi All - A friend of mine is looking to buy a Kia Seltos. The dealer has a March manufactured car ready for delivery. What kind of discounts can we get on this? He is planning a thorough PDI. Anything specific to look out for?

Did you check the VIN, or was it the showroom person who told you it's a car manufactured in March? If it's the latter, I suggest you request the VIN from him and have it checked. Otherwise, a 2-month-old car is fine after a thorough PDI.

Best wishes!

I don't think you can get away with hefty discounts. However, I have another query. The Seltos is a pretty hot-seller, and unless the variant your friend is trying to purchase is a slow selling one, it's rare that dealers will have inventory that old. Check the car thoroughly, if possible use Zekardo (or a similar service).
Discount-wise expect a maximum of 50k if the car is perfect. 3 month old stock is not too bad.
Do check the date the dealership received this car.

Thanks. It is Petrol GTX+ DCT. I was also surprised when the SA mentioned it is in stock. I have already asked my friend to engage Zekardo for PDI.

Re: The "NEW" Car Price Check Thread - Track Price Changes, Discounts, Offers & Deals

A friend is booking Altroz DCA, and is getting 25K discount + another 20K reduction in quoted Insurance.

Creative+ S variant is coming to 12.1 OTR in Bangalore. Anyone received a better price recently?

AFAIK, Kia has removed some features like one touch auto up down windows switches, UV cut glass etc during Q42023-Q12024 but re-introduced in latest models. Do check out the version dealer has to avoid any surprises and feature ommission.

The SA initially shared the 17-digit VIN and casually mentioned it is manufactured 2 months ago. When we insisted on the 19-digit VIN, we came to know it in January manufactured model. He said the chassis is Jan manufactured, but the vehicle was billed on March 30th to the showroom. Anyway, my friend decided to reject this car and wait for a new one, as this is his first new car. Thanks for your inputs.
