That's very usual in South. Sales team is least interested when it comes to popular models. SA doesn't bother with follow up or any negotiations and customer has to take it or leave it. This trend is not limited to automobiles but can be seen in consumer durables or even real estate. Good side is that the folks are not pushy so you don't get pesky calls. But having born and brought up in North, I'm used to negotiations and some hard bargains without which a buy doesn't feel satisfactory

Maruti Swift gets discounts for the first time since launch

Maruti Suzuki is offering discounts on the recently launched Swift for the first time. There are multiple offers on other models like the Alto K10, S-Presso, Wagon R, Celerio and Dzire as well.



According to a media report, Maruti Arena dealers are offering discounts of around Rs 10,000-15,000 on the Swift. Additionally, there’s an exchange bonus of Rs 15,000.

The 4th-gen Swift was launched in May this year. It is available in five variants and is powered by a new Z-series 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 80 BHP and 112 Nm. The engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.

Maruti is also offering discounts on the previous generation Swift. The petrol version is available with a Rs 35,000 discount, while the CNG version gets benefits worth Rs 15,000.

Whoa!! Does that mean the post-launch honeymoon is over for the 4th gen Swift?!

I mean, isn't this way too early to be offering discounts on a car that's just been launched 2 months ago? Besides, why offer discounts on a car which has surpassed 35,800 unit sales since its launch? I agree, those are actually factory-shipment numbers (right?) and not actual sales numbers.

With the other recent MSIL launches did discounts start appearing is less than 60 days after launch? What could be the reasons here? Piling-up inventory? Slowing car market? Hope the experts here can chime in.

Apparently, Maruti is offering upto 3.3 lakhs discount on Jimny.
Kind of similar to what was offered in December 2023.

Talked to the SA in Hyderabad, he confirmed it as well.
For Alpha, its 1.75 Lakhs cash discount + 1.5 lakhs additional discount (1 lakh for Zeta) if you take it from Maruti Finance.

Are these flat cash discounts? Coz I’m sure there’ll be some bifurcation like exchange bonus , corporate , loyalty , insurance discount and stuff ; and the actual cash benefit would barely touch 20k - 25k.

I am not getting any corporate discount. But didn't ask for breakup. This is what SA sent me. will ask for bifurcation too.

Looks good! But would suggest to check on the insurance quote and also on possible hidden / convenience charges for the RTO / registration.

Found the same on this video. Effectively the Alpha MT becomes 40k higher than Zeta MT. This is a crazy net discount of 2.5 to 3 lakh.

Such huge discounts make it seem like stock clearance before phasing the Jimny out. I hope that would not be the case, as the Jimny is anyway being made in India for export market consumption.

Maruti could have been less greedy in the beginning to avoid all this mess. Now they have a tarnished image, and lots of unhappy buyers who bought the Jimny early at the launch prices!

I hope the rumours of Jimny getting phased out is not true. I booked my Jimny 3days back and got a hefty discount.
