I don't know what executives of Tata Motors and Kia India are smoking. A price hike in less than 4 months will only result in customers dropping and opting for alternative. Harrier and Safari recently received price increase less than 3-4 months back and were already costly compared to XUV700 and Scorpio-N. I liked Safari and the Adventure automatic variant was close to ₹23lakh ex-showroom and I could not justify spending ₹3lakh more from Pure+S AT Safari.

Mahindra has reduced prices of AX7 and AX7L variants and intends to keep 2nd spot for March 2025 by dispatching as many XUV700's as possible. It looks like XUV700 facelift is going to come soon this year.
  • AX7L Petrol AT and AX7L Diesel MT get good discounts and are cheaper than original discount offered in August 2024.
  • AX7 Petrol AT is back to original discount price of ₹20.99 lakh after total of ₹45k price increase that was done in November 2024 and Jan 2025.
  • New prices as seen on https://auto.mahindra.com/own-online...0M037217219699

Got a message from Neon Mahindra about ₹75k discount on XUV700 AX7 price as part of 2.5lakh sales celebration.

I booked Kia Sonet last weekend. Dealers were not budging from the price at all. Only discount I was getting was on insurance.

They aren't even committing to delivery date too. If I am getting delivery after 1st April do I have to pay new price?

Price at the time of invoicing (full payment) is applicable. To avoid paying new price, car needs to be allotted and invoiced before the hike becomes effective. Once it is invoiced in your name, you can plan delivery at a later date as per your convenience. You can discuss with dealer about possibility of invoicing before price hike. It is financial year and month end so they may have some target to meet. You can also tell them politely that you may cancel booking if price hike happens.

Most manufacturers were doing this during COVID-19 times from 2020 to 2022, but after that discounts started pouring in, even Kia had good offers on the Seltos and the pre-facelift Sonet.

In case you don't know, Kia has offers up to over Rs.1,64,000 on MY 2024 cars still in stock, but it would be hard to find one, even in the MY 2025 models, discounts of around Rs.50,000 are given based on FY end.

Do check with other dealers who may have the model you have in stock and try to get the car invoiced before April 1 to avoid the price hike.

Most Kia dealerships offer PAN-India delivery, so this shouldn't be an issue, try neighbouring district dealerships as you may get a much better deal.

This is very interesting! I live in Mumbai and booked the Kia Sonet on 27 Feb. I got a healthy discount of Rs. 57,000 on a 2025 manufactured car which had to be ordered from the factory. All 3 Mumbai based dealers were quite upfront on the stock they had and the delivery dates for cars which needed to be ordered from the factory.

Looks like even Maruti has followed suit and announced a 4% price hike. It will be interesting to see how much this will affect the sale numbers.

This is the Operating margins of carmakers, Maruti is at number 3. Why are they raising prices again?

I don't think Maruti is a charitable trust. It's pure business.

In a bear market why will they want to increase operating margins. Simply put they will turn off potential buyers by price hikes

Any price hike announced by Toyota?? A relative is looking for Hyryder and showroom folks indicated that there will be a hike in April 2025. They have White ones in Stock and is pushing us to invoice it before 31st March before the hike. Hence thought of checking here. Thanks.

Although Toyota hasn't announced the price hike officially, most dealerships including many in my state and neighbouring ones have already sent out offers and brochures signalling to buy before price hike and avail exclusive offers!

Here is one for example:
The "NEW" Car Price Check Thread - Track Price Changes, Discounts, Offers & Deals-screenshot_2232025_10163_www.instagram.com.jpeg

Moreover, since almost all manufacturers have announced price hikes, I guess Toyota will do so soon. To add to that, since more than half of Toyota's cars on sale (i.e. Glanza, Taisor, Rumion, Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Innova Hycross) have respective Maruti Suzuki counterparts since Maruti is announcing a price hike, it is sure that Toyota will follow suit too at least on these models. There isn't a chance that a Toyota badge-engineered car will be cheaper than a Maruti for long (exceptional circumstances aside)

Thanks. What you mentioned makes sense. My relative is also looking for one in Kerala.
