2.Discounts i read in thread
SMT: 85000 including accesories i guess,Still!!
EMT: Free insurance only?

Could somebody please clarify so i can go to the dealer and bargain armed with some knowledge.

If possible can anyone post a link for interior pics of an EMT?There seems to be none here.

SX4 diesel is always at the back of my mind so that could be a bargaining point.
Folks do not feel to let down.
If not 85K.
then i you should be able to get around 70K.
If even that is too tough.
Then this is a 100% for sure deal which you can get.
Free insurance + 20K worth of accessories free.
Let me know what happens when you visit the dealers.
will guide you from there on.

Regarding EMT.
There is no head unit inside. It's a covered slot. You can easily fit in any double din unit of your choice.
Also there are no Steering mounted controls.
Apart from that i am not too sure.
That's all i can remember right now.
On the outside, there are no alloys.
no body colored door handles.
no fog lights.

I think the EMT too is a good option.
You can customize it really well to suit your style and needs.
Good luck at the dealers, let me know how it goes.

Thanks and sorry to hear I'm the reason you still don't own the City

The deal you're getting is not bad either - I think a straight cash discount of 80K is pretty close to what we got. Remember, we got a cash discount of just 65K at the end. The other stuff is all accessories which probably do not cost the dealer a whole lot. The big ones were the side step garnish and the side protectors. All the other stuff is just small things.

Thanks Arup!

According to Dad, the dealership experience was great. The Sales Rep was very co-operative with all our requests and didn't rush us into anything. Would surely recommend the dealership to prospective buyers.

Looking forward to your November ownership review.

Thank you mdsaab! Yep - had read the after-dark delivery part on the PDI post on T-BHP and mentioned that to Dad.

When we started our talks with the dealer, we had started with EMT and that too had a 70K discount. So like mdsaab says, you should be able to get a discount of 70K.

About the differences, there are quite a few, but the important ones [which you cannot fix/get done outside] are:

- Steering mounted controls
- Height adjustable driver seat

The Honda website also has a pretty good comparison of the features between the different models.

Re: Fiat Launches Special Program For Doctors

No idea how much it would help Fiat Sell more. altjough any effort is to be appreciated. Though it still appears to be a frivolous attempt.

Why only discounts to doctors? I seriosly hope that in their attempt to woo the medical fraternity, Fiat doesn't cheese off the thousands (and thousands!) of Engineers and MBA's and Architects, for example!

A little pointer.
When you do go in to the showroom.
Remember to point out what is lacking in the ANHC like ACC, electric folding ORVM's etc.
And remember to bring up competitor products like
The vento and ANHV. Mention how the ANHV is better loaded.
The generous dicounts you are being offered in the petrol Vento.
All this helps to physche the sales rep.
He then knows he has an uphill task dealing with you.
And will flutter around trying to get you the best deal and discounts.

Almost all brands offer discounts for 'corporates','govt. servants','loyal customers' etc. So, I guess fiat found another name under which they could give out some more discounts to help the dwindling sales!

This is just phase-1. They will come up with discounts for every one of them slowly I guess.

Instead of fiat coming up with such stupid ideas why dont they improve the customer service.I had made an enquiry and the only response that i got was that i should visit the dealership for further information.Dont really understand the need of a helpline when no help is being offered.Whatever discount is given translates into even poorer resale value if there is any value at all.

Not sure how many schemes they'll end up with this way but nevertheless I can wait for my turn!
On a more serious note, you can hardly make your presence felt by selling only 2 cars in India. Schemes be damned! Fiat had better wake up before it's too late. Sheesh! Just 175 lineas in July sales... Shocking.

re: The "NEW" Car Price Check Thread - Track Price Changes, Discounts, Offers & Deals

Fiat really has lost the plot. We asked for a test drive yesterday of the punto. The car they got us was a total disaster. Engine check light on, gear box all screwed up. How would anybody even think of getting a fiat when they are not interested in selling their cars. Really pathetic.

Cheers

re: The "NEW" Car Price Check Thread - Track Price Changes, Discounts, Offers & Deals

mdsaab and fellow bhpians,

Took the city TD.liked the vehicle though some parts are a bit too cheap.
here is what i was offered:

SMT: 50K off
or
40k plus protective beading(13k) plus rear sensors(4.5k).

Regarding SMT i said i will consider if offered 50k off plus rear sensors(4.5k) plus protective beading(13k) ie a total of 67.5k and i asked him to get back to me after speaking with his superiors.

EMT: Refuses to discuss emt.Says emt not available hence cant commit
to a discount but not ruling out a 40k offer either.Says he is not sure.

I said am in no hurry, will buy emt when you can commit to the 40k offer for emt.

Time is certainly on my side,i can indeed wait till may2012.He is pushing me to buy the vehicle this month itself saying the offer might not be there next month.

Do you think i should bargain for more?

The offer he has offered you so far is rubbish.
Tell him to speak to his senior and get back to you with a proper offer.
Tell him you are serious to buy here, and are ready to give him a booking amount.
you should get a total benefit of minimum 70-75K
Make sure you get the deal in writing from him. If not on their letter head then atleast on a plain piece of paper.
If your sales rep is good and you trust him. Then it's alright if he just writes the deal in your file. That's how our sales rep did it for us.
Also remember cash is harder to get.
Free accessories are squeezed into your deal more easily, they interally adjust the amount of free accessories from various other deals.

re: The "NEW" Car Price Check Thread - Track Price Changes, Discounts, Offers & Deals

Thamks mdsaab,
OTR for
city emt:822000
smt:901000

I guess this is a bit less than some metros which means offers will be a bit less too because its propotional to otr.

Anyway i will try to get 55k+protective strips(13k)+rear sensors(4.5k) which should be 72.5k right on your target. This is for smt.

Problem is i prefer the emt more and not sure if he will offer the same for emt.what do you think he will offer for emt?

But first of all it should be available. I heard that EMT's are in short supply.
You can bring it down to 60-65K for EMT.
But why not opt for the SMT since you get a few more features which are pretty nice like the audio controls on the steering.

Again thank you so much for the continued support and guidance.

EMTs are indeed short in suppy.Unethical of honda, they advertise Emt's price and the variant is not available.
Am in no hurry so can wait till emt is available.,or rather made available!

EMT because
1.cant justify the price difference between SMT and EMT,mostly cosmetic.
2.dont want to spend that much(though i can afford it).
3.seat height adjustment not needed, headroom very less if seat is raised.

Only good thing about the amt as per my view is the OE music system.rest can be added.

Am thinking of asking for the following discount on EMT:

1.40k off.
2.Sony2din HU.(12k)
3.Autocop rem locking(4.5k).
4.Rear sensors(4.5k).

comes to 61k; 40k cash discount + 21k accessories.

Sounds pretty decent. But remember you will.be sacrificing steering mounted controls which is a rather good feature to have.
And the feel of the OE ones are rather good. Something that you will not get with an aftermarket remote.
Also i hope Honda does offer the EMT.
News is production of them have stopped.
I suggest since you can afford it go for the SMT
