Generally, there is a mirror fitted on top of the OEM mirror which has a picture of a car; the display comes alive once you engage the reverse gear.

As the comes near an obstable, there are markings which show the proximity; the distance from bumper to obstacle is displayed in digits and even spoken out by a voice. So beep+voice+display.

re: The "NEW" Car Price Check Thread - Track Price Changes, Discounts, Offers & Deals

Considering to buy a diesel hatchback, deciding between Punto 1.3 Emotion Pack or Figo Titanium.
These are the Mumbai OTR prices from dealers :
Ford Figo Titanium Diesel
Ex-Showroom : 584,528
Insurance : 21,327
Registration : 47,167
Ext. warranty : 3,550
Std. accessories (Which?) : 1,800
Depot : 2,000
OTR : 660,372

Fiat Punto Emotion Pack 1.3Ex-Showroom : 670,794
Insurance : Free (was 24,460)
Registration : 52,956
Ext. warranty : 5,000
Depot : 3,500
Discount : 10,000
OTR : 722,250

Are these prices okay or should I ask for discount. The Fiat representative had flatly refused saying there are no discounts on diesel.

Considering the sales figures, of the two brands, I would go with Ford, especially at the price quoted. My favourite in this segment is the Swift.

OTR cost have a difference of almost 62k, what are the major differences of these two variants that makes up for this price difference?

I am told that refreshed Fabia will be available only after 4-6 weeks and only corporate discounts will be available. So going on for pre-refresh Fabia.
Considering those 15" alloys and rear wipe, which are sorely missed on present elegance, won't it be better to wait for a couple of months?

Should I take rear parking sensors (beeping type) or should I go for sunfilm - sides & rear? The rear parking sensors are not in body colour and the sales guy says that there will be a very small traingular device kept in the dashboard corner for beeping - do not know how it will look. Sunfilm is from Llumar Silver series which he says will cost Rs. 2,500 for the car.Am tempted for sensors as any external install will void warranty and later getting it done from Skoda is going to be costly but did not like the sound of triangular "dabba" on the dashboard.
I would agree with you that parking sensors are a better choice of the two. Elegance windows are already lightly tinted and you could opt for sun film later if needed. IMO its better to go for beep sensors than the visual one fixed on the rear view. OE IRVM on Fabia has an excellent night mode that you may miss if you fit anything over it. I'm sure you can urge the dealer to hide the "beep dabba" out of sight. I have used OE beep sensors on an Accord and it works fine.

BTW What colour have you chosen?

- Figo's 1.4 TDCI produces 68 BHP where as Punto's 1.3 MJD makes 76 HP.
- Figo has got manual AC where as Punto is equipped with Automatic Climate control.
- Figo is equipped with 14" steel where as Punto has 15" Alloys.
- No Steering mounted controls in Figo. Punto has it.
- No rear power windows in Figo. Punto has it.
- Punto has got leather wrapped steering. Not in Figo.
- No USB port in Figo. Punto has.

There may be more. I couldn't recollect it all .

What is the break down of this 9.5 L OTR with discounts? I just booked a Linea D emotion pk, and the OTR after all discounts is 9.9 lakhs. It looks like I have to cancel the booking now!! Here is what I was offered.

OTR - 10,34,667
Free insurance - 22577
Free RSA - 3000
Cash discount - 15000
An additional discount after a bit of haggling - 4000

Final price - 9.9 Lakhs.

What am I missing here? I thought I tried everything to get a good discount from them, but apparently not...

Please kindly reply as soon as possible and let me know what I can do. If I am being taken for a ride here, I am willing to cancel the booking and lose the 0.5% of booking amount (comes to around 1250).

TIA

The dealers may not offer same level of discount and need a car relatively quickly so choosing current Elegance. Its a trade-off of Rs. 20-25k vs. the three features.

Colour is cappucino/sea beige.

Are you sure about these differences? Hope you're not comparing the base Figo with, what seems like the top-end Punto. As far as I know, Punto comes with 15" alloys only on the Emotion and Emotion +.

I was comparing between the Figo 1.4 TDCI Titanium and Punto 1.3 MJD Emotion Pack. 15" Alloys comes only in the Emotion Pack variant.

Given the current slew of offers in Fiat, I guess you should check with another dealer. You should be getting a higher cash/corporate discount. I know on Linea they are offering 75k cash discount. Apart from free insurance (which you also got) and free road side assistance for 50 months.
