saw the trio testing over the weekend on the pune pen highway, the 508 looks massively long. the front is reminiscent of the last gen accord, while the rear chrome strip adds a bit of toyota etios to the rear.
no pics - sorry, the were coming from the opposite direction.
the 207 looks simply amazing. hope the red tape doesnt play spoilsport yet again and we get to see these cars in showrooms sooner rather than later.

IAB reports that the peugeot citroen to follow Top Down product strategy. This is on expected lines and 508 seems to be the first to enter the market.

Was leaving office and as I reached the office basement parking, couldn't believe what I saw! Three 508s and two 207s parked with a dedicated security guard who did not let me click pics

Although I tried taking a video from a distance but it was not very clear; will try again tomorrow if the cars are still there.

Spotted a 207 on the highway near Nerul. It was trailing a swift for few mins and it looked as big if not bigger than the swift. It was defintely wider than the swift. Looked pleasently refreshing in flesh.

The 508 has been launched in Malaysia.

Single 1.6L variant producing 156 HP.

























The Indian variant of the same 508 is expected to be launched in late 2013-early 2014.

I think they are going to start of with the 508.Its a good idea,would be good alternative to the ubiquitous Superb.They just need to first strengthen their dealer network,after sales and build on their brand.I think if Peugeot intend to become a large volume seller in India,it has to have a good ad campaign and branding,not to mention try to erase the debacles of the past.

So:
1.Extensively test the 508 in Indian conditions( which they are) so that electronics dont start going Kaput.Goes a long way in boosting customer confidence.
2.Load it with features,make it long and price it right!
3.Start of with say 10 showrooms in 10 major cities,with a GOOD sales staff,knowledgeable and eager,make TD cars available and build well equipped workshops.
4.An honest,crisp and engaging Ad campaign( i dont think going high voltage like VW is going to help,doesnt suit the image),where the product and its features is well highlighted.

The 207 looks good but the front grill portion of the 508 looks bizarre. I wonder how it would go down with the guys plonking big money for the quirky looks.

That 508 is one beautiful looking car. A little quirky yes but appealing never the less. And those interiors remind me of the old passat and audi. At what price point does this car compete ?

Expected to go up against the Honda Accord, Skoda Superb, and VW Passat, in the ~20L segment.

The interiors looks really great but the Car looks like Lexus ES 330 in front. If they want to get some numbers they should price from 16 -18 L. I checked the price in Malaysia and it comes to 26L in INR and they offer only one model. Not sure how they will price in India.

The "spy pics" aren't such a big deal anymore. These cars are openly running around the Mumbai-Pune route in broad daylight with badges unmasked. I spotted one in Hinjwadi of all places on the way to work on Friday morning!

The 207 looks gorgeous. 508 reminded me of the Fluence for some reason.

Is this a testing by Peugeot or a private import?

There is no camouflage on the car and more importantly, why would they test the 3-door hatchback? They could very well bring the 5-door which makes more sense in our country.

Looks like the 3-door silver 207 has already had a taste of Indian traffic. The front left bumper-fender have marks from a nudge.
