If they retain the muscular looks that can be identified in the teaser pic, it will look really awesome. Hope they also give it some off road characteristics rather than being just another urban crossover.

However the launch hasn’t taken place and there are no signs of the launch happening anytime soon. However we can confirm that the vehicle is ready to hit the production line with ARAI formalities commencing soon.

It is likely to be more than 4-metres in length and will be positioned alongside the Ertiga MPV. Powering the XA Alpha will be a 1.4-litre petrol engine and a 1.3-litre diesel engine, both offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

I seriously hope this is not an 'August 1 fool' news .

The IV4 concept that Suzuki previewed 2 days back is strikingly close to XA Alpha - grill, pronounced wheel arches and steeply raked wind shield, except the rear which is made more production-ready and 'Estoqe'ish. And the name IV4 may be suggesting that it is an 'Indian Version under 4m'.

That's the answer to the minor face lift of the current Jimny and the iv4 could be the new Jimny (four door).

iv4 is not the replacement for Grand Vitara, so it might replace the long running Jimny.

Sorry to say buts it's a very sad design, if launched in today's time I don't see it selling.

These Jimmy are available in the middle eastern markets and you barely see them on the streets, their usage is mainly as service vehicles used within the company estates.

Jimmy is a very popular 4wd not only in the Middle East but else where also. It's got very strong 4wd capabilities and can take on the likes of wranglers and landies.

Don't go by its small size, it can really perform wonders offload.

The compact crossover segment will soon get another member as Suzuki has announced its intentions for such a model at IAA with the iV-4
(iV-4 stands for individuality vehicle with 4-wheel drive)
A potential successor to the Grand Vitatra!

Set to tackle the Nissan Juke, Renault Captur and other models in this segment, the iV-4 is characterized as an "SUV for the present day" thanks to its compact dimensions: 4215mm length, 1850mm width, 1665mm height and a 2500mm wheelbase. It sits on 20-inch wheels shod in 235/55 R20 tires and wears a bespoke Brilliant Turquoise Metallic paint.

The study contributes Suzuki typical design features as the slightly curved bonnet and the five lower front grill. Suzuki is using LEDs light creates a very striking signature. Note the intricate mirrors that host allegedly cameras. The running boards under the doors can be folded.
The overhangs fall out when unfolded.

The production version is scheduled for a 2015 market release and aims to have the lowest CO2 footprint in its class.

Surely looks mouth watering !! 4.2 meter means they need to chop 20 cm from it to launch in India. Also when it comes to India 20 inch wheels might slim down to 16 inch(and 15 inch for lower trims)
