Yes it does. But it wont be measured in India and will still duck in under 4m mark.

If I am remembering correctly, the turbo kicks in @ 1350 RPM in case of New fiesta where as in classic fiesta, the turbo kicks in at 1200 RPM.
But the new Fiesta also far better than Fiat engines and Hyundai engines in terms of Turbo lag.
What you say is true. I never meant my statement in a quantitative sense. I just meant both New Fiesta and Duster 85 are incredibly easy to drive in the city.
Adding a tuning box would effect the linear power delivery and hence I prefer them without it. That was the reason, I mentioned about them having absolutely no lag.

Same thing would apply to the Ecosport if it comes with the same state of tune as the 1.5TDCI New Fiesta.

The Kerb wieght of 1.5 tdci Ecosport is 1381 kg for Brasil and Argentina, 177 kg more than petrol version.

I hope 1.0 Ecosport should be 60-70 Kg less than 1.6 flex Ecosport (1244 kg).

The diff for 1.0 Ecosport and 1.5 tdci Ecosport will be 200+ kg.

Thanks for sharing the link. Though the article mentions about the innovative HVAC system being made by Visteon for Ecosport & how effective it is, it fails to make any kind of objective assessment, as to how quickly the inside air temperature reaches from say 35 degrees to 25 degrees. What is the rating of the compressor etc? Is the AC strong enough to cool the rear passengers in say 5 minutes etc?

I agree with this. To add my 2 paisas, would this also not depend on the rear seat unit, whether it is only a blower or a proper ac sub unit?

So it is almost confirmed that in India also we get 1.5L diesel that is there in Fiesta. Because in Argentina they are getting the same engine. I assume that this is the engine which is getting exported from India http://www.indiancarsbikes.in/cars/a...is-next-63678/

After going through all available review and videos, I am concerned about the forward visibility. It appears that the dashboard is quite tall.

Anyway, I am waiting to see the car in flesh!!!

As a rare species on this forum (New Fiesta owner) I can tell that there is turbo lag in new Fiesta (more than Figo) which is felt in 1st and 2nd gear mostly when pulling from standstill or really low speeds.

Cant quantify it, and dont really see the RPM at which it pulls, but it is wee bit noticeable, I am guessing 2-3 seconds in 1st gear and 2 seconds in second gear to get the car moving. The longer 2nd gear and tall gearing makes this more pronounce than it really is. Figo on the otherhand can pull from standstill even in 2nd, new Fiesta would stall in 2nd (had it happen to me sometimes) if started from standstill.

Having said that, once the car hits turbo than it pulls much more cleanly than Figo and much more strongly than Figo. In addition the engine is more refined than all other C segment cars I have driven. Absolutely revv-happy, vibe and noise free. A wee bit more power, and 300 nm of torque wont hurt though... but thats a natural aspiration of all humans, to ask and desire more!

Believe me, the forward visibility is excellent. The forward visibility also depends on the height of the driver. I'm 6' 2"and i was at home driving the Ecosport.

That is true. I have not driven as an owner. But I test drove for about 30-40km amongst bumper to bumper traffic, open roads and bad roads.

I did feel the lag in the first and second gear as you mentioned, but some how never felt glued to it. It seemed much easier to get out of it.

Duster 85 is even more easier. It pulls just like a petrol. In that respect, it is easier to drive.

The new Fiesta does struggle a bit, if it is on a higher gear at lower speed (hey, any other car would struggle). More than turbo lag, i would blame this on the tall gear ratios, which is almost 20% taller than the Classic or Figo.
