Excited by so many sightings! Hoping to see one ASAP since i could not see it during the time it was displayed in Chennai (EA Mall). I am hoping ford gives a good deal on the AT Eco sport (Please don't dissapoint us by giving it in 1.5 liter engine only) and i will book it immd. I would be happy to see it have a little bit road presence and also sub 4 meter would help me park it with ease in office. Come on Ford!

Your scenario is bang on, and I totally agree with you as even my paking set up is similar to yours. I imagine a 'Swift like' waiting period for this wonderful car.

The assumption in your scenario is that the boot-lid, when opened would block the entire gate. If the gate is so narrow, how will the ecosport enter through that gate? Assuming the gate to be atleast 1.25 times the width of the car, you would still have space left behind the open boot-lid to get the suit cases in. Otherwise you could park the car a little further to get enough space. Remember that ecosport is a sub-4m car and you have allowance to park a little ahead

I would prefer the current design, considering the way my house is. Front door of the house leads to the driver side of the car, when the car faces the gate. If I move the car forward a few inches, I can get the suitcases loaded into the boot with the way it currently opens. If it opened the other way, I would have to move the car a little further ahead so that even the open boot-lid is not in my path.

I guess it is just a matter of convenience/inconvenience on a case to case basis, at least for the scenario you mentioned.

Personally, I would be more frustrated with the indicator stalk on the left side than the boot lid handle on the right.

Saw the test vehicle on NH45 (GST Road) near the Ford Factory. Vehicle does look good in flesh.

Going by the minimal masking, seems that launch is near.

P.S. - Pardon the poor quality, we were both doinbg 80 & I was on my bike...

The headlight pic shows a pretty evenly lit area at the bottom, so i suppose we will get the LED DRL's as well!

Did you get a chance to notice the performance of the Ecosport headlight? Only other non-circular headlight in recent times from Ford was in pre-facelift Figo, which attracted a lot of criticism about the reflector design. They finally solved it by going back to round reflectors. I just hope the Ecosport headlights are upto the mark.

Dude ! 80 kmph on a bike at night on GST Road and you take snaps with your phone in one hand and throttle in the other ? Not worth the risk!

True! Not for a vehicle thats being spotted pretty much everyday now.

Yes . The throw was even and good. IMO, the lights would be good (may be I am a little judgemental). Such questions are best answered by self evaluation, rather than opinions.

But, whatever I read from the reviews of Ecosport so far, no complaints on the lights though.

As per this picture I feel Eco has better road presence (though the picture is not approriate).

Yep, Definitely. Because of the width, it looks little bulky from the Bolero.

Wow ! if the width is indeed 1765, then its going to be a pain while driving in our narrow lanes. Has anyone spotted Ecosport with the spare tyre covered ? will it be available as an accessory ?

Isn't ecosport a sub 4m vehicle ?

Also, in the picture ecosport is closer than bolero which will add some difference but i dont think we can compare them since bolero design is too old.
