The TDCi badging in the video is aligned towards the end of 'Titanium' badge(as opposed to the Ecoboost badge which is aligned towards the beginning of 'Titanium' badge).

The seats seem to be beige color; Interesting, could ford be following Maruti's example in giving beige touch to understate the claustrophobic feeling, if any ( Dzire appears much more roomier with beige treatment compared to the all black interiors of the swift)

Let us see if the trend will continue in India.I hope Ford does not mess up with the pricing, features and variants in India.

While on this, I spoke to the guy from Mody Ford who sold me the Figo, and he said that Ford will start delivering Ecosports from mid-April.He also said that Ford has asked the dealer not to commence bookings without their green signal.

Was at Chennai Ford Poonamalee today. On enquiry about any new launches, the Service Manager was ROCK HARD sure of Ecosport launch by March Second week. He also said that the vehicle will be in their yard soon and people have been sent for training too.
However, he said that the advance bookings are not yet open with them

Many thanks for the links. Did go thru the video of 4WD many times. Looks like there are 2 launches, one of 4WD & the other a Powershift(on 2wd.). If you look at the dash there is no 4wd button in the Powershift models. Similarly 4WD badge is not present on the sides of the Poweshift cars.

Hoping against hope that Ford pull off a 2L 4WD Powershift model & get it to our shores.

according to an article on motorbeam website,the ecosport will be selling from april 2013 onwards,reason being the union budget in which the excise duty on small cars is expected to be reduced by 2%.Ford wants to capitalize on this and price the ecosport as competitively as possible.this was the same scenario when the Figo was launched,Ford announced the pricing of the Figo only after the union budget.
But personally i feel one wouldn`t have long waiting periods for the ecosports,as Ford deliberately delayed the launch to make sure they have enough stockpile and they are confident that ecosport will be selling in huge numbers,

The rear seat back support seems to be too short. the guys in the image seems to a a little above 6 feet tall. Might be a problem with the average Indian height, but might be a concern for families with taller genes.

This looks like a Titanium and is quite brilliant in this orange hue. Now i hope the after markets figure out a way to hide the spare wheel and it should make for a decent looker. The front isn't to my taste, i like the Duster much better.
But i've no doubts that the EcoSport will be much more well put together by Ford.

Thanks for sharing. This is very interesting - the temporary number is MH43 and not TN. What is still not clear is the hinge on the tailgate; seems that it is still on left side as the rear lamp cluster doesn't show the latch.
Here is my other two cents worth - if Ford is waiting for a perfect moment to launch this - there is never going to be one; the sooner it corners market share the better it may be with the leading edge of new product segment; else people may loose interest and with a slew of concepts on the same line rolling in by this year-end they would loose the trailing edge of the wave as well.
