The only possibility I see is Ford launching Ecosport at 5.99 lacs for the first 500 / 1000 bookings as a teaser and then increase the price. If I am not wrong, Mahindra followed a similar strategy with XUV 500 where they launched it an introductory price of 10.8 lacs for limited bookings and later on opened bookings again at 11.7 lacs.
Following article on Daily Bhaskar also suggests 5-6 lacs for the base petrol variant as an introductory price offer. I am sure it will be available for a lucky few and it could be through a lottery system like Tata Nano. Now that would be a good marketing strategy leading to huge buzz.

I would have preferred these or this type of interiors with the Ecosport. It looks much more sporty and nice to look at than the aluminium finish (i guess) which just spoils the package with the superb exteriors and not so nice interiors.

2013 Ford B Max

2013 Ford Fiesta

I don't know what stopped Ford from giving these interiors in the Ecosport than the one's they have given and this considering the fact that all three cars, Ecosport, Fiesta and B Max are based on the same platform and around the same segment and price points.

Just received a call from my bank. My Relationship Manager has received the price list which is fresh off the oven. He says the prices are between 6.5L to 12.5L. However, the announcement from the bank will occur only in 2 weeks.

I hope they have NOT gone to a great level of cost cutting. One of the aspects I liked in the new Ford Fiesta is the quality of interiors. And in Fiesta that's the let down. I hope they managed to localize keeping the quality better. And if this is designed to span 5-10L bracket, then they out to make sure even the guy who spends 10L gets proper quality worth the price tag.

Edit:: I am still keeping my guesstimate as 6.49L for base petrol. This will help me reduce my shock if the car does NOT sport the 5L tag. If it indeeds sports the tag, I will be overwhelmed. This could turn as a disaster recipe for Ford as the expectations would be really high on the price now.

Are these ex. showroom prices? Announcement in 2 weeks? Will the launch happen before that? The time frame given is Marc 2nd week, so we have close to 1 month left for launch going by those dates.

Watch the Autocar show this weekend on Bloomberg UTV. To be specific, the last part of the show.
According to him, Ford is threatening to shock everyone with its pricing!

This is cool.

You mentioned your RM has the price list. Would it possible for him to reveal the variants and pricing for each?

If not, we know that 6.5L is for lowest variant of petrol and 12.5L is for highest variant of diesel which could be AT. Can he/she share pricing for the highest variant of petrol and lowest variant of diesel?

In his recent tweets, Hormazd Sorabjee has confirmed what he said on the Autocar show which is around 5 lakhs pricing for the Ecosport.

He believes Ecosport will be launched end of March with deliveries in May / June.

If the price is going to be under 6 L , then the engine has to be 1.2 with a basic frill one like Figo Lxi .. If Ford are going to do this, then this is a right move as per my thoughts, because it can make them to place the car across multiple segments and with attracting buyers from B+ segment to D segment

This makes sense to me. Sounds better than the versions of 1.5 ltr for base petrol.

That's surprising
Does Bank's get the pricing before they are officially announced by the manufacturer ?

You have mentioned that your Banker have received the price list - can you dig deeper and get the variants and their prices, including Diesel and Petrol
