However the delay is frustrating me! Hope ford realizes, the Honda Amaze is on the way and lot of people might just flip for the Honda Badge + Diesel! Also looking at the way other car makers are giving discounts now due to the industry slowdown, even if they price the eco-sport well they will lose customers to other car manufactures who are going to give it to them even cheaper.

Must admit its a good time to be a proprespective car buyer now.

True that! (both statements). I am one of those ford loyalists eagerly awaiting for this one (and also asking a couple of prospective buyers, including myself, to wait for this launch and then decide)

I am just crossing my fingers to get ford this one right, and help me bring home another ford! (Have already convinced wifey on the looks department of it )

Am waiting for Parrys to link up the pics and give us the scoop. I have been waiting for this for over a year now. After driving the Fusion for almost 8 years, Ford has truly spoiled me. I test drove the XUV, Ertiga, Storme and nothing seems to compare to the pleasure of driving i get in the Fusion
I do hope the construction is reliable just like the Fusion. I am wary about localization on the body construct and i hope we do get the Boron steel of Fiesta in this. I dont mind paying the premium that it commands. But anything above 12OTR would be a tough one

We should probably have a ticker for Ecosport news on our PCs and phones now

Superb.Finally we'll have a good quality view of inside from our own sources.

My brother was at the Select Citywalk, Saket today where they have kept it for display.The covers were removed at 12pm.Attaching a few snaps,sorry for Blackberry camera and Whats App transfer.The Ford people also said about launch in 1 to 2 months time with a price tag of 7 to 9L.

I had registered on the Ecosport website a few weeks back, in the "keep me informed" section. Today afternoon I got a call from Cauvery Ford about my enquiry. The SA on the phone said an Ecosport test drive car will be available from this month end onwards, for customers to try out and decide.

The actual launch is in May from what he mentioned. They will be accepting bookings once the test drives start (from April 1st). Token advance will be a minimum of 25k bucks, and the average waiting period (counting starts from launch time) will be around 10-15 days.

this is the first Compact suv which is proportionate from whichever angle you view it from and has immense road presence.So there is confirmed news of 4 variants and 8 colors with 3 engine options to choose from with only 1.5l petrol mated to powershift automatic transmission,the other 2 engines 1 litre ecoboost and 1.5l diesel will come with 5 speed manual transmission only.
the 8 colors according to me should be 1 white 2 silver 3 black 4 sea grey 5 orange 6 sports red 7 yellow 8 blue.
the launch is bound to happen once the urban discovery show is over(still one or 2 months to go)
confirmed features in top titanium variant 1 keyless entry with keyless start stop engine push button,2 Sync(glad Ford has introduced it in Indian ecosport) 3 abs ebd 4 curtain airbags 5 reverse parking sensors with visual guidance(no camera,just graphic display) 6 auto climate control

Doesn't reveal too many details more than what the website currently gives out, so it isn't actually the full spec brochure in the true sense . I would be particularly interested in a variant-level listing of features and technical specifications. I guess we'll need to wait some more time for them to reveal the full blown list.

when compared to European ecosport one can easily see the difference in terms of quality materials used by Ford for Indian ecosport.Hence one can expect a very aggressive price tag for the Indian ecosport.
The difference in comparison to European Ecosport
1 alloy wheel design is simple.Tyres are regular MRF.
2 the seats are inferior(no blue threads/red threads on seats,which was seen in European version) in the rear centre seat the head rest for the centre passenger is missing(correct me if i`m wrong)
3 the dashboard is of inferior quality in comparison.
4 daytime running leds(it is showcased in the European version ecosport on youtube)
5 no cruise control(not sure if its available in European version)
anyone got confirmed news of a 4X4 version for India?
