Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Yes, we haven't been discussing the looks part of the Ecosport much over here. I think thats because this is not a 'Love it or Hate it' kind of a design, hence not controversial at all. But it really looks very imposing when viewed directly much better than in the pictures. The Head lamps which give the mini Ford Territory looks and the mini Fortuner like rear are very neatly done. Full marks to Ford for getting the design spot on with the EcoSport ![]() Here are some pictures that I took at the Auto Expo: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| ![]() Not saying it just for the sake of doing it, but I have been quiet on this particular thread and was very surprised as to how people are not even discussing the way it looks. The orange color IMO looks horrendous and the features of Ecosport don't appeal one bit. I don't want to look at this one from any possible angle. Maybe it is from inside that it looks the best, because I don't have to look at the exterior then. I don't intend on starting a X vs Y debate here, but Renault Duster with its plain looks way better than this one. Ecosport is like Lady Gaga. Too much going on with the looks. |

| ![]() I think most reactions on EcoSport's looks comes from LED headlights and the huge chrom-ified grill. We know two facts- 1. Headlights will not be LED in final product. ![]() 2. EcoSport is a little over 4 meters in length. So there will be some bumper shaving. Since it's the front which looks like could save on space (look at rear, simply no provision to remove something to save on space), let's take a look at the test-mule below (not sure if it's really EcoSport or not). ![]() If it's really EcoSport then EcoSport might look completely different because of change in headlamps and bumper shaving. Like this one- ![]() So, even if Ford says that EcoSport is going to look 97% (?) same, the change in looks could be quite huge. Keeping fingers crossed since in SUV market, looks is quite important (people prefer butch looking SUVs not baby-ish ones). |

Team-BHP Support ![]() ![]() | ![]() Another curious point I would be willing to see, is the torque/speed/power curve comparison of Fiat's T-Jet versus the 1L Ecoboost. Though the displacements capacities are different, but it would be worth a comparison. (114 Ps versus 120 on max power). |

| ![]() Orthodox /classic looks are always nice, but IMHO the Ecosport looks modern, and does not look tacky from any angle. Maybe that’s the reason for its better acceptance on the looks front. |

| ![]() The windows looks so narrow, might be claustrophobic (They look narrower even than the swift). Need to see if this design makes it finally to the road. Otherwise the design is very radical for a ~4 meter, 5 seater. Asides, I would prefer the person who put the price sticker on the Figo handle this one, rather than the one who did it for the Fiesta! |

Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() 2012 EcoSport spotted in China, again! "While India saw the Ford EcoSport unveiled at the 2012 New Delhi Auto Expo, it was a close-to-production concept version which means that the production *will* look different. Unfortunately, no one has been able to spot the production version of the Ecosport in India. This is probably because the Indian testing phase hasn’t begun yet ? Ford EcoSport will be powered by a magical 1.0L Petrol Ecoboost engine which produces 120 PS and 170 Nm of torque while returning 20% better fuel economy compared to a conventional 1.0-liter engine. The diesel variant will have a 1.5 Duratorq motor from the new Fiesta." |
