Assuming you have done required maintenance on time, you should have warranty left. Even otherwise, I'd suggest to keep it.

Could it reach under 4m length when the spare is excluded ? I believe the Mahindra Quantro did the same, calculating the 4m length without the spare.

However Ecosport being under the all important 4m mark would have the obvious advantage of lower excise duty. This is the distinct advantage for Ecosport & should help Ford price it quite aggressively compared to the Duster.

One thing not mentioned above is the ground clearance. Duster at 205mm sits only 5mm higher than the Ecosport, which is at 200mm. This should be sufficient given its shorter wheelbase.

Note: Fiesta wheelbase is 2489mm, so Ecosport has a 32mm advantage. Also Ecosport having 3 position reclining back seats, the rear seats in the Ecosport can be expected to be roomier & spacious compared to the Fiesta.
Also, looks like ecosport has a higher seating position compared to duster. Just an observation, not sure though.

Not sure when folks deducting 300mm for S Mirrors.. that is too much I guess.

ecosport will be a hit priced correctly. The sub 4m benefit should be passed on to the customer. I am an ford ikon owner and was waiting to upgrade to fiesta, but new fiesta was launched too pricey; that had my plans put off.

Hoping that ecosport is proced correctly. I having an apprehension that an upgrade from Ikon flair to ecopsort will it be good .. I will losse on good boot space

Re: Ford EcoSport Preview @ Auto Expo 2012. EDIT : Indian Spy Pics on Pg. 33

I am a Proud and satisfied Ford Fiesta 1.6 owner for the past 4.5 years. I do expect the similar kind of performance with the Ecosport. This is build on a global B2E platform (global Fiesta shares this platform). The Exterior looks agressive and interior will be similar to that of a new Fiesta. But it all depends on how Ford India is gonna price this little beast.
I trust Ford would have corrected their errors on the failure of Fusion (with the pricing), which was an Excellant vechicle both in comfort and performance.
The overall length of the vehicle including the spare wheel would be 4.2 m.
Specs of the existing model is as below,

Overall length of vehicle (mm) 4241
Fuel tank (l) 52
Wheelbase (mm) 2521
Overall width of the vehicle (rear view) (mm) 2057
Overall width of the vehicle (no mirror) (mm) 1765

Saw in some newspaper yest that Ecosport launch is due in Jan'13. I was so badly hoping that they launch in Nov/ Diwali.:-(

Too loooong a wait. Won't it eat up half of their prospective buyers?

Exactly! If you leave people like the tbhpians aside, half of India waits for the diwali "Discounts" to buy their next car and Ford will lose out on those buyers. They should atleast start pre-bookings during this time, even though there won't be any discounts on a new launch.

Some rumours were doing the rounds that Ecosport will be unveiled during Oct/Nov 2012 & bookings also might commence from then. Actual deliveries might start in Jan 2013. Don't know how far is it true to the point!

It would be nice if Ford launches it as per the reports.
But I am of the thought that Ford would silently observe how Quanto intrudes into the Indian market and see the response of the crowd before bringing in their little SUV.
I think Ford is planning to play safe with the pricing of Ecosport because the Fiesta sedan sold in low sales numbers only because of the wrong pricing strategy and if Ford goes wrong with the pricing again it would be hard time ahead for the American manufacturer.

+1 to this. When ever I have read any official launch timing from Ford themselves they have always said first quarter in 2013. Even though various auto mags have reported Jan 2013 out of their excitement. This means they want to keep the launch timing open and decide based on other factors and play it safe with the price.
