Suddenly the thread has surprisingly gone silient. Looks like no more news is available on the ecosport. If I am not wrong the ecosport is supposed to be showcased today at an auto expo where we will get to know about the specs and the interiors. Hope someone will update us all with pics.

I like what I see. I just hope the same design makes it to the indian production version too. Like the symmetry and the shape of the A/C vents and the center console. Hope the plastic quality improves too, I'm sure ford would have received that feedback from the customers for the new fiesta.

Thanks. Definetely Ford should offer the top end Ecosport in India with the same speces as elsewhere in the world. Indian customer has matured much and is ready and willing to pay a premium for features and safety. I would definetely pay the premium for the sunroof, extra airbags, and all other goodies such as parking sensors, reverse camera, navigation, leather seats, etc., etc.,. Ford can have a lower range with basic features and can also offer the highest variant at a premium price. i20 is the best example which has a price band of about 3 lakhs across variants and it sells good numbers of all the variants. So lets keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best and hope that the dream of the Indian buyers to have a compact suv with loads of features and safety will come true shortly.

Playing spot the difference with our Fiesta's interiors, I can tell that:
The backlighting in the display and the controls is blue, whereas Fiesta has red highlights.
Differently shaped AC vents.
They have taken feedback from the reactions Fiesta got for its dark all black cabin and have gone with a twin colour approach. Even the doorpads also are dual coloured

Also, if this is the top-end version (which it might be as usually the top end versions are displayed at these shows) there is no cruise control. Could indicate tight cost control to make sure the top end isn't overpriced (like what happened to Fiesta in India).
But, the seats look like they have side airbags (which may or may not come to India). Would be nice if they were an option atleast.
And one more tiny thing is that there are no reverse parking sensors but I guess they could add them later as they would be absolutely necessary in an "urban" SUV.
Also neat little EcoBoost badge on the rear.

Sharing so many bits with the Fiesta should let Ford price it competitively.

Though I don't understand why Ford is wasting space on the console and adding clutter by providing 0-9 digit buttons.

Is that for dialling out? How big is this feature? How many people dial a phone number (which is not in your contacts) from the car?

Believe me cruise control is not worth the money in India as of today. I've tried hard to use it but the max I've used is less than 5 minutes.
It's better to get a reduced price vs having cruise control.

Hope the whole interiors carry the styling of the exterior, not just the dash area-unlike the Fiesta. The dash on the passenger side looks bland, just one glove box! How does the passenger airbag work, breaking up the whole dash?!

There is no space for an idol, so where will Ganesh ji sit , it misses out on the recess given in the Figo, which can accomadate an idol just fine.

The interiors on the whole look quite good and thank God for no beige.

The interiors look good! The engineers have done a good job this time compared to the all black and dull interiors in the New Fiesta.

I am unable to find picture of the rear seats in the Flickr link. That should give an idea about the rear space!

Yes,in many cars the airbag will break dashboard while triggering, probably the material at that point is made to break. But it adds cost as whole dashboard has to be replaced

The interiors looks really cool and the Cyan background illumination is a welcome change from the Red one of Fiesta. Hope they will get the same interiors here and price it very competitively. I guess, Scorpio will soon face the heat.

Not sure if somebody already mentioned it. The Ford India site is updated with more information about the features of the cars and more pics.
But one strange pic is they have posted the interiors with the steering like the left hand side.
