The accelaration looks quite good. The way the car moves away from the spotter is a proof. Also quite impressed the way the guy is using lane changer indicators. I noticed the spotter overtook 2 new Fiestas to reach behind the Ecosport, were those Fiestas also from the company itself?

Yes acceleration seems to be good. I am interested in the RPM reading at 120kmph. It has been a pretty long thread, is the ecopsort gonna get 5 Speed MT or 6 Speed MT ? 6 Speed MT would make it a very relaxed highway cruiser.

The car looks too puny when along side the innova in the video.
Looks like a grown up hatch. Need to see it in flesh for the road presence.

Yes, Ecosport looks puny widthwise compared to the Innova. One more reason to hope for a very attractive and low price.

Re: Ford EcoSport Preview @ Auto Expo 2012. EDIT : Indian Spy Pics on Pg. 33

Any idea if the length mentioned in these specs are inclusive of the spare wheel or excluding it? If 4280mm is excluding spare wheel, Ford will have a tough time boxing it within 4m to get the excise benefits. If it is inclusive of spare wheel, they might be able to squeeze it into 4m without much of a redesign.

Saw it in flesh today morning (Orange'ish color) and it took me few seconds to realize it, no camouflage whatsoever. Looked very puny to me too. Have a feeling that back seat comfort (thigh support) will be bad.

4280 is including spare wheel. While considering length for excise benefit it is without the wheel. The car is really under 4m and engine smaller than 1.2p and 1.5D

From the side by side comparison seems like Duster's Bonnet is longer. If you take our that , length looks almost similar. The width of duster looks to be on a higher side and the road presence is better for Ecosport

I just heard from someone today that Ford is developing a 7 Seater version of the Ecosport too? Is there any news regarding the same?

You can secure the Alloy Wheel using a Lockable nut, as is available as an option on many Skoda Cars. Not so sure about the Tyre, but that would be very difficult without removing the rim off the vehicle.

I don't think so, The EcoSport comes with the lock nut that wont make the Spare wheel a 'sitting duck'. I feel that the spare wheel on the swing gate adds to the Butch SUV character of the EcoSport compared to its arch rival the Duster. Both have very good presence, but the EcoSport looks a bit more sophisticated I feel.
