I was thinking of a similar thread and found this one & was a regular follower, even though contributed only once or twice. Suddenly this thread has lost its charm by taking a shift from real issues to hypothicated ones. I like scorpio because it meets my requirements but not very emotional about it. If Safari comes out with a better engine and gear box, I will go all out for it. I dont see any reason to push one against another. As god father suggested everyone has their own opinion and no one else has a say in it.

But getting my beast serviced is still my scariest nightmare.

If you remember; in one of the other threads a formula wrt the alphabets was deciphered to discover whether the SAFARI that someone is getting from showroom is a new one or is an old manufactured one. I hope this also means that all new buyers would get the latest ones with the updated ECU

In my opinion, Safari and Scorpio are focussed on different segments and therefore comparison between them is not really a fair one (for example: there is no Safari VX equivalent of Scorpio or even an EX). Additionally, Scorpio also feels very small inside and ride quality and passenger comfort have never been its strong point.

It seems like the vehicle of choice for many politicians is the Safari VX in Arctic White. When I went in recently for service, every Safari there belonged to a politician or council chairman and they were all white 4x2 VXs flying party flags. Does this contribute to the delay in getting white Safaris? I got my Pearl White 4x4 EX in 10 days (didn't have a problem in the first 5000kms - review will be forthcoming shortly).
