re: Renault (including Duster Unveil) @ Auto Expo 2012 - EDIT: Now launched at 7.19 Lacs

oh man, where is the Team Bhp review, this SUV/car is growing on me day by day. I really think Renault is going to have a winner with this even the prices are not bad and it looks like one of those bad guys in old Russian movies, he does not look scary but you know better than to cross his side.

But back to topic, GTO ji hamara review kahan hai ?

re: Renault (including Duster Unveil) @ Auto Expo 2012 - EDIT: Now launched at 7.19 Lacs

How can they design such an awful rear AC for such an important car for the company? India is a country where people always prefer cars that will carry maximum number of people. People want to accommodate more people and that's why we have SUV's with 7 seat options like Fortuner, XUV 500, Scorpio, Safari etc. Here it is a case of even the 5th person not being comfortable.

Rest, the car looks good. But Renault needs to price it sensibly or else it will be difficult for them.

I definitely like what I see, though I'll take the "praises" heaped by ACI with a pinch of salt, especially w.r.t the seating comfort. The seats look flat and the seat base doesn't look wide enough to offer good under thigh support. But I doubt if legroom would be at a premium (as suggested by the pics) going by the space that they have been able to generate in the smaller Logan.

I agree, Duster has to be able to seat 5 at least in reasonable comfort.
I hope, if we skip the rear-ac, the cooling will be good, if not very good. Some of us might skip the rear-ac not just for the leg room, but also to fit the car in our budget.

Duster will be launched as RxE, Rxl, RxZ variants in part 1 of the story. We have also informed you about the fact that RxL will be available in both 85PS and 110PS versions and revealed all other technical specifications yesterday.
Now we have detailed information of each of these variants. We have tried to simplify the information as much as possible for your reading pleasure.

re: Renault (including Duster Unveil) @ Auto Expo 2012 - EDIT: Now launched at 7.19 Lacs

Dear Team BHP, Y@sh and other members,

I just want to add that the last image Y@sh has posted has been updated. Instead of RxL, we had used RxE twice. I'm attaching the updated image below revealing the correct technical specifications and variants.

I am providing this image to clarify and not create any confusion in the minds of the reader as the previous image shows the wrong variant. My intention is not to abuse the forum or the thread.

@Mods - I request you to use the updated image on the previous post.

Yours respectfully,
Shrawan Raja

Doesn't the diesel also come in a RxE variant? Assume it will be similar in features (or lack of features!) to the Petrol RxE.

Even now, IAB is standing by the introductory starting price of 7L for the Duster RxE dCI85!

re: Renault (including Duster Unveil) @ Auto Expo 2012 - EDIT: Now launched at 7.19 Lacs

^^ The 110 RXL includes the ABS +Airbags as standard equipment.

Frankly , I do not see why they have kept the Chrome garnishing only on the 110 RXZ model??
Without which, the Duster looks plain boring & dull !

And the 110 RXZ is expected to be priced close to 12-12.5L on road! (delhi) ; add the Optionals to it and it would probably reach 13-14L !!!
For that price, you clearly get into the Yeti/Scorp AT/Safari Top variant range ; all of which are MUCH premium looking SUVs.

Their only hope should be the pricing, if they really intend to sell it much.
Otherwise, this looks to be like a rehash of the same story for Renault.

^ Thanks. Not much of a difference in RXL and RXZ in that case. Alloys, Rear AC and Park Assist and few other features.

This car's suddenly struck a chord somewhere in my heart. Suddenly I'm a Duster fan. The 110 PS engine's said to be quite meaty. Waiting for the team bhp official report.

What optionals? I think there are no optional equipments that you can add to the RxZ variant.

Today in TOI Delhi edition, there was an ad from Skoda for Skoda yeti @12.99 lacs (active variant). Call it the 'Duster' effect
