re: Renault (including Duster Unveil) @ Auto Expo 2012 - EDIT: Now launched at 7.19 Lacs

I think someone posted earlier the Renault CEO said the options are not final and will change.

That would be needed as there is a big lacuna with the RXL 110 missing airbags and abs! And there is no option pack!!

The RXZ has this but a bunch of other stuff like rear ac, leather seats that folks may not necessarily need or want.

re: Renault (including Duster Unveil) @ Auto Expo 2012 - EDIT: Now launched at 7.19 Lacs

Does anyone know the back seats provide inclination (push back) or fixed? When they folded completely, will it become flat (inline with rear space, something like small bed).

No where I could see these pictures.

RXL 110 has airbags and abs as standard equipment.

The rear leg room for the 5th passenger is clearly compromised. Renault should have come up with a more creative design for the rear AC.
very true..especially so, when that's the only feature that the Indian arm has designed!

Why could they not mount the rear seat on rails to make it more flexible ? another mystery...

There are several on the internet. One of the few first things I searched on.

Dacia Duster luggage compartment with the rear bench folded (Test Drive Gallery Photo #75/85)
From Cardekho.Com

From the UK website - "With the back seat folded down, the Duster’s load capacity jumps to 1,636 litres(1,636l on 4x2 versions, 1,604l on 4x4 versions)"

True.
I was just suggesting that it could be like the linea(pic1) or indigo/even my indica(pic2) or i-20(pic3)

re: Renault (including Duster Unveil) @ Auto Expo 2012 - EDIT: Now launched at 7.19 Lacs

The rear AC looks like a stumbling block for me. From photos, it looks too much intrusion and it reduces rear space. I would like to have 5 people travel once in a while, if not often. If taking a 5th adult is going to be very difficult, the trim without rear AC will be the one (after a TD of course).
Waiting for ID

In the image provided, I spy that the rear tailgate and rear end of the body is not covered from inside either using plastics or body trims. I see bare metal.. this is quite a shocking cost cutting measure, looks somewhat like the Alto's C pillars .... Also if the boot area has bare metal, the paint will get scratched, rubbed off and the metal dented if one places luggage....

So I got some prices from some near reliable sources(Bangalore Ex price)

Petrol Duster - 7.4
Diesel Duster 85PS - 7.9 - 10.2 (accross trim level)
Diesel Duster 110PS - 10.3 - 11.1 (accross trim level)

Lets see in a week if my sources were true
If the petrol duster is at 7.4 Lakh, expect a diesel car to be minimum of 9 lakh. The current trend of petrol to diesel price premium is close to 1.3 to 1.5 lakh, expecially on bigger cars.

This is a first time real serious effort by renault which is getting good eyeballs from future customer, thanks to a different view of market by renault. I am hoping this car is real success for renault unless they mess up on the pricing front.

My expectation would be 7.5 for Petrol 9.0+ for diesel going upto 11L for High level trim. For a 9.0 L diesel SUV many a people will be game (except those safari lovers)

re: Renault (including Duster Unveil) @ Auto Expo 2012 - EDIT: Now launched at 7.19 Lacs

7.4L - Petrol
8.5L - Base Diesel
9.5L - Base + option pack
10.5 - Base 110 ps
11.25 - 110 top end

All ex-showroom

Thats what I feel the pricing could be.

VAT is 20% in UK. 17.5% was 18 months ago... & shocking price of £8995 is for the petrol base model in UK.
