Thats Correct,I went Yesterday to the Renault dealer at Andheri,Asked them for information on the Duster,They were tight lipped.Asked them for some kind of brochure or literature based on the Duster,the reply was negative.
However the dealer said that the release will be in June sometime.On the net somewhere i had read its in October.I think i'll go with what the dealer said.
I even saw the pic of the duster on their main advertisment board in the showroom showing all the models which are available.

The latest Autobild has it that the base petrol version will come at around 8 lacs and that there will be a top spec 4WD trim powered by diesel. Scorpio and Safari had better beware!

As Ive always been saying, I think this duster will be amongst the best vehicles available in India for the price and of course capability. Both rural and urban users will welcome it. The launch of the duster will create as many waves as did the launch of the XUV 500.

Unfortunately though, I simply couldnt wait for it to come!

Overall, great news for the consumers with so much choice being available.

Thanks guys.
Information that i have as of this moment is:
1. There is no 1.5 dci 110 Bhp (at least for the launch). It may be available later.

2. There is no 4*4 stated to be launched on 30th June. It may be available at a later stage.

3. The Power to weight ratio for 1.5 Dci 85 is equivalent to that of Scorpio 2.2 mHawk. So expect decent performance (0-100 in around 13 sec).

4. There are going to be 3 variants each - Base, Mid and Top in both Diesel and Petrol.

5. Tentative Price - Petrol 7, 7.5, 8 Lacs Diesel - 8, 8.5, 9 Lacs

6. Interior Trim : it is going to be similar to Renault Brazil Duster, The base variant is going to get Black & Grey interiors and Top end is going to get Black & Biege Combo. U may check the Renault Brazil Website for interior pics.

7. Power Window switches to be there on Doors and not the center console.

There is no confirmation on the specs and the dealers are already started accepting booking amount

The tentative specs are:
Petrol : 1.5l DOHC 100 - 105 ps (torque 134 @ 4000rpm)
Diesel : 1.5l SOHC K9K - 86 ps (torque 200 @ 2000rpm)
Transmission : 5 speed manual

Dealers were earlier taking bookings on fluence account. But in last couple of days they have been confirmed by Renault India to take original bookings under Duster Account. The booking i did was in Duster account.

@ Nishant Kar - that's good news. In Bangy, I checked with Renault Palace Orchards - they said that launch of the Duster would be in 4th week of June and asked me to call up in the third week of June to check on the specs. Did'nt ask them on the bookings though.

Have booked a Duster as well. Was told only 4X2 trims will be launched first. Estimated OTR in Thane (non octroi, individual) for top end diesel was 10.25-10.5. No estimate on 4X4 versions schedule yet.

Am surprised at July 1 delivery guarantee in Gurgaon. I had to sign on the booking form that delivery will around Sept. Apparently atleast 200 bookings have already been recd.

Will keep all posted.

Checked up again with the Bangalore dealer - apparently they are also taking an advance of about Rs 20,000/- for 'priority delivery'. They have no information on the 4x4 or prices here yet - expecting more info on the specs by the 3rd - 4th week of June. They also mentioned possible deliveries by July

Two petrol versions, two trims with the 1.5lit diesel with 85hp output, and two trims 1.5 diesel with 110hp(fluence state of tune) engines.

The Duster page on Renault website has not been updated yet. Can we really trust the info provided by dealers? What is the update on Renault giving dealers a preview of the car?
