What car were you in? I know this is short but it looks really short. I'm guessing the better stance (as compared to an X1) will certainly help balance the looks.

Why can't they just launch the damn thing already?

The photo was taken by my colleague in a Fluidic Verna. We have been frantically calling the Renault dealership to take a booking for the car after seeing it on the road.

I agree, too much chrome. Even the ORVM cover has chrome. Speaking about changing it, what option will we have in India? Its not going to be practical to source Dacia's grill....

I am guessing all three variants will be available for both petrol and diesel. The only thing which may happen is diesel base variant comes with 85bhp engine only and top end diesel will be 110 bhp only. But again this is my guess

Seems i did a lot of mistake in trying to extract the text and copy paste into excel. I am attaching the image for the benefit of all. Sorry for creating any confusion. This should help everyone
I get a feeling that they will be launching the Petrol in the 110bhp , 1.6L variant only. (just have a look at the way they word the mid-variant specs)

@Mohan_Nikhil : Could your friend comment on the pickup of this car? This looks like the Petrol one and I would be interested to know that..
also, seeing that Renault has a very minute presence on this forum; could I encourage you to update your ownership experience of the Fluence? anything that stands out?

The car will be in display by the end of this month and delivery starts first week of july. Again as mentioned earlier, both petrol and diesel will have 3 variants. The engine options are

so totally 9 variants in all ? assuming a 50k difference between each variant & a starting price of 7L Ex showroom ; that would mean that the Top model would be close to ~12L.. Sounds reasonable, doesn't it?

Depends on which city it is being bought in then! BLR 12L Ex Showroom means around Rs 14 L on road!

The glass does not look tinted. With the Supreme Court order on sun films and tinted glass, is it mandatory for Auto manufacturers to provide tinted glass?

I guess he mentioned 3 variants in Diesel and not 3 variants in each of the 2 diesels. From the specs posted in the earlier posts, i guess its going to be 85hp for low variant, 110 for high variant and the mid variant gets both.

The pick up seemed good but nothing that the Verna couldn't keep up with. Not sure if it was petrol or diesel. Tyres seemed to make the car look quite imposing. (sic)
I have been wanting to update my ownership thread on the FLUENCE. Waiting to complete 5k kms. Already done 3.5k kms in about 45days.
I called up my Sales Advisor to enquire about the booking. She didn't answer, but called me back a while later and confirmed that she was at the Duster training, and that she would call me back on Monday with all details and possibly take my booking on the 20th of June.

not exactly, there will be overlap in pricing as diesel base will be cheaper than petrol top end and things like that. From what i know the top end is 10 lac ex show room in delhi

I hope she does call and hopefully will shower you with information . I am sure there are severe restrictions on them to keep things confidential. Lets hope for the best...

Thanks! Looks like a very decent effort. And if they go by the initial plan of added dealerships by 2012-end, Renault look to have winner here. I am actually feeling bad for Ford now. The cross-over space maybe quite different by the time they finally decide to launch the Ecosport.
