Hi All,

can't wait to ask this one. May be it is a silly question

. I don't understand the point of such camouflages i mean any car enthusiast with good observation will be able to recognize the vehicle then why is it so?

The form factor mostly does not change from one model code to another. This, I am talking about the German car brands. The stickering job is done more to hide/subdue the lines on bonnet, boot, bumpers...

Never know what the Chinese will do otherwise.

This is a 5-minute video-clip I took when the local BMW Dealership launched the "new shape" 2012 BMW 3 series and invited existing BMW owners to an exclusive test drive event.

Also this video/ event wasn't just about the new 3-series but it was also an opportunity to refresh my current model (an E46 330xi) with a newer one. There was a large inventory of new 2011 3-series models that they were selling at marked down prices. Plus some cool coupes without any mark downs.

Initially took this video as a personal video journal (Iphone4) so that I could recall some details and pricing when I got home, but then decided to share it with the TBHP community. Hence, please excuse the choppy video and somewhat non-articulate commentary.

Had a chance to do a small test drive of the F30 328i with the N20 2.0 Liter turbo engine!

I came back very impressed with the engine. No perceptible turbo lag and plenty of torque right if idle!

The EPS made it feel like a camry in comfort mode but shifting it into sport got the BMW weighted feel back !

I daily drive a e46 325i with sports package. The F30 did not disappoint!

Luxury, Modern and Sport,

The car at the Docs is Luxury, One in Chennai is Modern and the one at ARAI is Sport.

The alloys on the ARAI test car are super ! I hope BMW gets this design in, it's high time we get some choice on specialization especially for alloys. I mean offering the same rims across the model range as in the 5 series is ridiculous !

Looks good. However I feel the sharpness of the E90 is missing in the F30. And I strongly feel that the true petrol heads will miss the hydraulic steering of the current 3er in the F30...

^^ Infact those alloys are quite similar to the ones on the VW Jetta! I also hope they offer a wide range of colours.

+1! This one'd be preferred by back seaters more rather then the petrol heads. To each its own. Let's see what kind of feedback it receives. Had a chat with a Navnit Motors representative and he said that initially, only the top end luxury variant would be launched.

How do you know about the 335i coming later this year? Is that a sure thing? i am really interested in that car i was thinking of may be importing it or just getting a 320d. But if it arrives by the end of the year, i can probably wait it out.

While we all await the new 3's launch in India, here is another report from Richard hammond who also mentions it as being the best car in the world, I have rarely seen a car get so many praises, BMW 3 is going to rule the world, and it will do so in a stately manner.

First to say this I believe was Autocar UK. This car is going to do for BMW what Swift does for Maruti!

Launch Details - India - F30

1. Engine Options - N20, N55, N47. The diesel would be a Twin Turbo. 328i is coming.

2. 3 Variants: Luxury Line, Sport Line, Base Line
