I don't think we are getting the manual anytime soon. Only the auto box is coming as far as i know.

Baseline 20d gets 16" rims, Luxury line gets 17" rims. Not sure about 20d sport line.
28i sport gets 18" rims.

Vibhu, are you sure? I would be surprised if they didn't have a manual for the 320d. It's going to be their biggest seller and the manual could come in at a lower price point to drive higher volumes.

Hi Guys
I was driving around in Chandigarh and I saw 3 Bimmers covered in some kind of vinyl. I thought they were the new 3 Series and I got so excited I decided to chase them down. After a good 5 minute chase I managed to hunt them down and this is what I found out.


Yes its the new 3 series F30 and it is open for booking as of today for 2 Lac at the Dealership in Chandigarh. I asked the guy if they had made any changes for the Indian road but he did not seem to have much knowledge himself yet. So I decided to click pics and show them to you . There are going to be 2 models :-

1st priced at 32 lacs and the 2nd priced at 36 lacs ex showroom. Since these guys are going to parade Chandigarh with the vinyl covered bimmers for another 2 days I am guessing they were in a hurry of some sort. Nonetheless here is what I caught of the 3 beauties indicating the 3 series launch

Nice catch! So what I see from the steering column is the missing Cruise control function. The new 1,3,5,6,7 all feature steering mounted audio, phone and cruise control buttons, out of which the cruise functions are missing. I liked the white corona rings and the xenon headlights. Good pricing too.

I spotted 3 cars with the same stickers at besant nagar beach, chennai yesterday. I guess this is some sort of pre launch publicity. Car looked big though. Looked good.

He also said that there is no change in the engine specs, they are same as the previous one. This model is the top end version. I ll be uploading a video soon of the interiors.

Spotted similar ones in Ahmedabad twice today. They are moving in a set of 3 and are happy to show the car interiors to admirers. Saw a few young students posing with the vehicles. Looks like a coordinated brand promotion activity. Sorry no pics as I was rushing for a meeting.

Looking at the alloys and interior trim the variant shown in the pictures above has got to be the Luxury Line. Based on information from maximuzz and ecclipse78 the top of the line variant (Luxury line) should cost 36L and the sport line 32L (not sure about this). Looking forward to the official launch and prices.

I have an official invitation for the BMW 3 Pre Launch event to be held at Cochin this weekend. The executive says that 18 bookings have already been made. Booking amount, he said, is 1L.

Edit: It is good to see that the iDrive screen is the bigger one. I hope BMW does not give it a miss in the production cars.

That screen you see is actually the production version screen size. As I had already said else where before, the same is now standard across 1,3,5,6,7 albeit extra features in higher models. 5 has a heads up display and some such technical advancements. In my opinion, (I got a chance to drive the 116ti sport(2012 model) in Germany for over 700kms) I still feel the old IDrive was intelligent and much easier to use.

I saw one of the these test vehicles in Mumbai on Saturday near the Khar on SV Road.

I could not click a snap as i was driving on the opposite side. Seems that the launch of this car is very close.
