re: Scoop!! Facelifted Xylo E9 at dealer yard *UPDATE* Fresh pics with interiors on Pg.6

A good scoop indeed!! More than the discussion on the XYLO E9, I am more interested in the hints at the launch of the new Scorpio. Keeping my fingers crossed. Hopefully M&M will pleasantly surprise us with a new face-lifted scorpio.

I too feel (like others), that the new Xylo looks familiar to the Safari Storme. But, I am not sure if I like the Black colored grille. Might work out for Xylo, but will not, incase the similar design is carried forward to the new scorpio.

Well done Mahindra, you have managed to keep your prospective buyers guessing and excited at the same time with the recent launches.

They should get rid of those weird violet shades they had chosen for the door pads and bottle holders inside. I had given that as a feedback when i test drove the Xylo. Lets hope it reached the right people during the re-design.

Rediff is reporting that the launch is on 8th Feb. So we will see the MUV and the pricing pretty soon. I am sure the pricing is already with the dealers in that case.

Its amazing how Mahindra comes out with products to encircle the competition.
I just love the way they play with utility, price, their brand image and their sub brands to shake up competition to roots.
It must be something like this in their board room "Come lets sit discuss what competition is coming out with to hamper our current product. Launch a new/refreshed product at a price point less than the competition and let the current product be where it is. But wait, lets not position the new product on similar lines lets give them something different. Now we give a customer 2 offerings in the similar price bracket with different utilities. Thus increasing chances of same customer coming to us and attracting other segments as well. "

The new bonnet and grill design makes the Xylo "look" more matured. IMO, they have to increase the bonnet length and height, and reduce the height of the vehicle a bit to make it look balanced.

re: Scoop!! Facelifted Xylo E9 at dealer yard *UPDATE* Fresh pics with interiors on Pg.6

I saw the new Xylo today (E4 model). It looks good from from the front but Mahindra has given it an overdose of black colour (plastics) and it was looking pretty average because of the same. They have also used some kind of stickers on the sides and roof area which were looking out of place.

I might get to see the E9 soon. Its expected to launch by the 10th of Feb or earlier. It supposedly has the M-Hawk engine of the Scorpio with 120BHP of power. I am not really sure about the pricing.

+1.
If a similar design treatment was done on Safari Strome (by removing the large Chrome cladding) , it might look more aggressive, while its looking very matured here on Xylo.
Else it was like ' Unnecessary Aggressive' look earlier on Xylo.
I heard and found many of the potential buyers either went back to Innova or Scorpio due to its unwelcoming and fearfull look of the out going version.
Yeah, the mHAWK mill would definately make it a more attractive option compared to Innova, provided the pricing is done smartly by M&M.
Good Luck !

No doubts, E9 looks far better than the previous iteration. Does'nt it now look more like the Mahindra Genio from front? Or is it just me???

re: Scoop!! Facelifted Xylo E9 at dealer yard *UPDATE* Fresh pics with interiors on Pg.6

Guys, just visited the M&M workshop yesterday, and saw a brand new facelift E8 Xylo, with obvious design cues from Genio.

Here are some pictures, sorry for the pic quality from my BB. Tried to take some pictures, before anybody noticed to give some idea of the changes that has taken place. I am posting pics for the first time, so not completely sure on how to add quotes between pics.

Apparently there were 2 cars one of which had already been through the PDI, so I am suspecting a launch soon. The guys were clueless about an E9, so dont know if this is just a facelift across the range.

Thanks for the pics. Is there any change mechanically or it's just cosmetic?

Thanks for the excellent pics AGwagon!!!

These are the clearest pictures yet and we see the interiors as well. It's looking good but did anyone notice those black plastic addons in the fornt bumper.

What a scoop!!!
