That is because
60 mph = 96.56064 kph

wowowow....thats one fast car! What other mods does it have besides pete's remap? Its good that u hv 225 tyres or that car would spin out like crazy, probably with stock tyres it would be faster in a straight line but once u see a bend its another story!
@madmonkey-how much does the 190bhp remap from pete cost?

From what i have heard it costs Rs. 50,000 Thats a phase one remap

Phase 2 costs 3 Lacs i read in BSMotoring. It includes Miltek Exhausts, Remap and lots more, i guess even 17inchers OZ wheels are part of the package and much more.

@ Sahil Monkey also has got Koni Shocks.

I think power-to-weight and the fact that its front wheel drive make the difference here.
Or do they? I dunno......

@busa: well, the phase I re-map by pete's brings out about 20%, if i'm not mistaken; and that's about 180 (claimed) bhp, roughly - at the crank. and the phase I costs about 44 G's, just for the ECM re-map alone, i guess- no extras- no suspension, intake/exhausts (except a k&n to support additional fuel enrichening), etc.

and i guess you're talking about the 230 hp black vRS featured in the mags; well, that one clocked naught to hundred in about 9.xx, under wet conditions, didn't it? well, i'm talking about a different vRS here- this one's silver in colour. and last i heard, that clocked about 7.xx....perhaps i heard wrong...and i think it's pretty obvious that all performance runs are clocked with just the driver on board, with minimum fuel. another thing to remember is that crank (claimed) hp figures need not always necessarily mean superior performance (example here could be the s2000 and accord V6 3.0 manual; the FWD accord makes identical power, a BUCKET load of extra torque, and has a 1 litre advantage- but the RWD s2000 smokes it still; that's because of the rev-band at which the power is produced, plus weight, gearing and other factors; the only reason i took this example is because of the identical hp figures). it takes a LOT to bring down the 0-100 times by even tenths of a second, especially when the drivetrains, cars and driver skills are identical. sure, a 230 hp skoda will definitely reach 200kmph WAY faster than a 190 hp one, but shaving even HALF A SECOND off the 0-100 mark isn't THAT easy ...

@GTO;if i may ask, at what r.p.m did you launch? and which roads? and correct me if i'm wrong, but doesn't vRS struggle to do 100 kmph in second-i.e, doesn't it redline?

@ veryron - The Silver Octy i know the one you are talking about it took 7.xx secs to 100(195bhp) Miltek Exhausts, etc. It came in ACIs last issue. Secondly Petes RS took 7.xx (235bhp) in the wet.

I agree with you that the car will be clocked with no many on board but doesnot wind direction and road surface also play a important role. Anywayz Monkeys car has nice shocks to lay the power well.
