B V R Subbu resigns from Hyundai!

http://in.rediff.com/money/2006/mar/24hyund.htm
B V R Subbu, the president of car major Hyundai Motors India Ltd, has resigned from the company.
"Subbu has put in his papers," sources in the company confirmed. Details, however, are awaited.
He has been associated with the company for long and has been instrumental in making Hyundai, India's second-biggest carmaker.
Currently, H S Lheem is the managing director of the company. He had taken over in January this year.

Wish he joins Fiat India!!!

OUCH! Subbu was a marketing genius and was largely responsible for the Santros mass success, and Hyundais expansion.

Or Maybe back to TATA where he originally came from. V Sumantran still has not been replaced.

Hmmm a new head honcho (MD in this case) will always try to bring his own team to the company causing a lot of heartburn and employee turnover. However, I hope this was not the case with Mr.Subbu - if it was, Hyundai will regret it for a LONG LONG time.

I saw his interview on some news channel, don't remember exactly but was NDTV. He mentioned there that he wished he would join an Indian car maker, stating that a lot can be done working with an Indian manufacturer. Tata will make fortunes if he joins them again. And yes he worked for 18 years with Tata.

Most of the companies in India has succeeded when they have had Indians heading the companies in India.

Look at ford for eg.

I hope hyundai doesnt turn back and get a guy from their home country to head hyundai in India.

doesnt spell a certain disaster but an Indian president is always able to study the market better.

my two cents.
