Re: FEATURES comparison of select Hatchbacks & Sedans in Rs 5-5.75 (P) & 6.15-6.85 La

It would be interesting to give weightage to each feature and then indicate a score for each feature for different model. The overall score for each model will be the sum of scores for each feature. Ofcourse, the weightage given for each feature may be different for each individual since the parameters used for weighing may be different. For example, one person may give weightage based on "Value for money", while another person may give the wieghtages based on "Must have feature". The overall score for each car will give out some interesting results. I have done the same as an example for only 4 features for 2 models. Attaching herewith the same for reference.

A correction for VW Polo Comfortline. I have incorrectly mentioned in the comparsion sheet that ABS is not there - but in fact even the Comfortline variant has all the safety features i.e. Driver & Passenger Airbags along with ABS.

This is a tremendous effort. What a ready reference for someone looking to buy a new car. Thanks for this

Humbly, I would like to offer some corrections.

Some additions to this (I own a VW Polo 1.5 TDI Comfortline) :

1. Power Windows still work when the ignition is off. I noticed it some time back. I will check it again though.
2. Polo has a foldable key.
3. The car auto locks at 10-20 km/hr (Not sure about the exact speed)
4. It has a USB option.
5. Speedometer back-lit color is white.
6. The car comes with ABS.
7. It has head light reminder option.
8. Speed alarm can be set.
9. Dead pedal is there (not very useful though)
10.Vanity mirror is present for diesel version as well.

Thanks again

Thanks for your valuable inputs. The mid / lower variants usually don't get much coverage, that is why your inputs are so valuable. I try and gather most of the information from website, brochures and Team BHP reviews, but a real owner's inputs are always welcome. I have made a note of all the changes and will update in due course. Just a couple of things:

Point#2 Foldable Key: Does it also have the option/button to open the boot with the remote itself?

Point#3 Auto door locking: The official VW brochure & website mentions, this feature is available in Highline variant only. Is the feature on your car Dealer / VAS enabled or came as a standard from the factory itself?

Point#10 The "P" here denotes passenger side (front) and the "D" is for driver side. Not to be confused with Petrol or Diesel variant. The same is mentioned in the reference key at the end of the comparison.

Small correction for the swift Zdi, mine sure does have the auto-lock feature, car locks around 20-30 KM/hr

Point#2 Yes, it does !

Point#3 May be it was the dealer. I would check with SA next time I meet him. The car auto locks once we cross 15km/hr.

Point#10 My apologies, I should have paid attention. I guess you are right then.

Thanks !

Sharing sheet comparing hatches made for my own purchase

So, I made this spreadsheet as I was researching cars for my own purchase. I'm sharing it in the hopes that it'll be useful to someone else.

It lists all petrol hatchbacks with a few features I had deemed mandatory (ABS, Dual Airbags, Bluetooth phone control, rear wiper and washer, manual transmission)

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing

Re: Sharing sheet comparing hatches made for my own purchase

Hi,

Nice comparison! Very useful to compare data side by side.

The Onroad price is for Karnataka or Telangana?

Also, the safety rating scored by the models may also help.

Re: Sharing sheet comparing hatches made for my own purchase

Great effort and very lucid way of presenting the data. Excellent for a quick comparison of what is on offer. It would be great if we can have a similar sheet for the automatic hatches also.
