High Points

- Morris Street is built at Hradyesh's setup @ GTK Road in NCR. They are planning for an assembly facility at Manesar / Karnal.

- The Morris Street is completely hand-crafted. All the body panels & parts, including the chassis, are fabricated in-house.

- You can customise the Morris Street anyway you want. Loads of engine, interior & exterior options available.

- Lets hope it drives as good as it looks, and not like a jugaad. A request has been placed for a Team-BHP test drive. Irrespective, I don't expect it to even have the handling finesse of a humble Maruti Swift.

- All the cars comes with a 1 year / 50,000 kms warranty. No service center as such. Maintenance & repairs offered at your doorstep, thus the city-wide reach must be very limited.

Technical

- The Morris Street is powered by an engine built around the Maruti-Suzuki G13BB engine block.

- Standard power rating is 90 BHP (@ 5600 rpm) with 120 Nm of torque (@ 4200 rpm).

- Rear wheel drive.

- Claimed 0 - 100 of 12 seconds.

- Kerb weight is 950 kilos.

- Front Discs, but rear drums.

- Front suspension : Independent with McPherson strut & anti-roll bar.

- Rear Semi-Elliptical Leaf Spring.

Wonderful. Would be a fun fifth car if i may. Loved the interior upholstery and awesome gauges. Noticed that speedometer is in MPH. Direct import i guess.

Would have been cool if the gauges could be retrofitted in other cars.

Any idea what the amount column in the check should be filled with?

I just noticed in one of the pictures that the rear lights are taken from the VW Bug! Haha..
So its a Morris+Bug+Maruti hybrid :D

Nice observation.
Inorder to keep the cost low, we can even have spark's tail-lamp :uncontrol

2.7 crores sounds too high, unless, every piece is created using high end equipments and technologies. It might be a figure provided for such projects, wherein everything is created, Like what DC does.

This one should cost a bit low, I would expect around say Rs.10lakhs for mods plus the car cost.

I think they are coming up with a much better design next, a true Hot-Rod.
Still a nice attempt by the makers.

Looks like the result of a one night stand metween an Austin 7 and teh Morgan Aeromax!

Interesting creation though we cant really talk about anything else but the looks.

I have a few reservations, the creators and fans may kindly take this as constructive criticism.

1) I Like (not too many things, especially for a car that costs that much);

The front Morgan-esque look.

The Dials (Autometers Quads). They should have been flushed with the console not sticking out like a Jar Cover.

The Steering Wheel

er...er....um.......i guess thats about it!!

2) I dont like:

The looks in entirety.

Its too high to be a rod. Its got to be lowered down. While one might argue that the road conditions are not ideal for that, without it being lowered, this looks odd.

What are those two ugly vertical parallel lines, adjacent to the fogs? DTRLs? No Way? If they are, why are they not showing in the picture with the lights on?

The front and rear lip looks horrendous and out of sync.

The Interior colour. Looks like Red Riding Hood's car. Red, Red Red...too much of Red..!! Of course im guessing thats customizable. Seats with the button type design not happening nor practical.

Why is the Hand brake lever covered in something that looks like a rain coat?

The Armrest/door pullin thingy..im guessing thats there because the power window controls are incorporated in there. Not happening for a car of this value. It should have a Fiat type of leather door pull and the power steering motor must be flush and hidden behind the door panel.

The console on the steering housing, the turn indicators and wipers. These are out of place. Looks out of a Maruti. Not to mention the plastic levers stick out like a sore thumb. Chrome all the way or have metal stick levers like those found in the 60's American cars.

The ugly black meter thingy in front of the driver must go. What is it? Looks out from a MM550 which houses the panel light indicators. No way.

I would have preferred a flat Billeted Matt Aluminum Dash or even a dash made out of chequered plate. At least area which houses the meters (the eye shaped part) must have a metal look to stand out.

The door handle (YUCK) this should be replaced with an older turn down lever or be hidden in like the Beat's rear door. Out of site or make it look Rodlike. This one sucks. Please change that.

Would look better with a twin, flat chromed bumpers as in old Chevy's. Would really suit the part rather than a pipe at the rear only. Bumpers both front and rear.

The Rear fender and the running board. Too deep. It sticks out too much and looks like an after thought. Im guessing its there to hide and envelope the wider track. But if this car was designed and hand built why was this not thought of? I would remove the twin exhausts and take them out from the sides,under or over the fender and turning outwards, just before the rear wheel arch. Maybe the below as the running board would hide this better. Also have Quad tips. Just looks more hot roddish.

I dont like the wheels either.

What?? No A/C? where are the vents?


The first thing that came to my mind.


Please, while i appreciate the effort and salute it, im not running this project down. Im suggesting ways of making it look worth at least a fraction of the price. Please dont get offended.

The rest one can only comment after one has driven the car.

I saw this car with registered number plates about two weeks back going from Chandigarh towards Delhi and trailed it for some time. Thanks for clearing the confusion GTO about the make. It looks really good including the fit and finish. The car though seemed slow to me or the guy was not pushing all that much.

All in all a definite head turner :thumbs up

edit: Just saw the price. Is it a classic? If it isn't then I take my words back regarding the fit and finish.

The quote must be based on the fact that the company will customize everything you need from the power plant to the other accessorizes. Hence from a few lakhs to a couple of crores.

Nice project and commendable effort.

Just one query, what will it be registered as?
