First pics: Mitsubishi outlander 7 seater

Price: Rs. 19,95,000 ex showroom Delhi, one lakh cheaper than the 5 seater. No equipment deletions from what I saw.
To be called as the outlander LX.

The 3rd row seats can be fully stowed inside the boot floor to mimic the 5 seater version. The roll over boot cover can then be used.

Re: First pics: Mitsubishi outlander 7 seater

Nice photos. So let me get this straight. Two extra seats, no equipment removed and it is one lakh cheaper than the 5 seat version. Why would anyone buy the 5 seat version then, unless that car has more space in the boot, which anyway is probably not such a big deal. Only hope this can revive the fortunes of Mitsubishi in India and hope they are able to break away from HM and set up on their own or in partnership with a better company.

Re: First pics: Mitsubishi outlander 7 seater

Googling gives me clearer shots of the third row-

Third row seats look funky to me. The comfort looks quite questionable even from standard of little kids!

Re: First pics: Mitsubishi outlander 7 seater

Only one question 2 more rows and no equipment deleted and a lakh extra than normal outlander, than why one will buy 5 seater ??

Even in 7 seater seats can be folded to get same boot space as in 5 seater one.

Strange isn't it ?

Third row seat has the same design as Outlander (in other markets). It is really weird, in the sense it has almost zero knee height but has the headrest at a height which is probably meant for a fairly tall passenger. Emphasis is given to make it neatly fold-able down rather then comfort when it is used.

Re: First pics: Mitsubishi outlander 7 seater

Mitsubishi is doing a great job in the Indian shores. Firstly they bring the pajero sport now, it should've actually be launched 2 years back, for me the design already looks dated compared to the new fortuner or even the endeavour, a cosmetic facelift is needed. And talking about the Outlander they bring in the one with a seven seater option when the all new outlander is set to debut globally sometime this year. Also selling the seven seater and five seater option side-by-side seems like a joke that too with the seven seater being one lac cheaper!!

Re: First pics: Mitsubishi outlander 7 seater

A lakh cheaper than the very same car with 5 seats? I wouldn't mind those funny looking seats at the back of my car then.. Especially if the additional seats can be fully stowed into the boot! Wonder whats on Mitsubishi's mind right now though!

The new outlander to be revealed in Geneva a probable reason? Also 7 seater qualifies for less safety norms?

Re: First pics: Mitsubishi outlander 7 seater

No wonder its a lakh cheaper than the 5 seater! That third seat looks really bad, Those headrest looks like a squash racquet

Kids dont like to sit in the third row in the first place and that thing is certainly not designed for an adult.

Re: First pics: Mitsubishi outlander 7 seater

This doesn't make any sense, does it? Are they going to discontinue the 5 seater or re-position it? And as is with Mitsubishi India, the official Outlander site is still not updated.

The 3rd row seats in there reminds me of some characters from Harry Potter.

Re: First pics: Mitsubishi outlander 7 seater

If that 7-seater is a lakh cheaper than 5-seater with same features, it could only be due to lower tax. But couldn't find out the tax percentage for various versions.

The excise duty list at SIAM website is a bit confusing (not their fault). Anyway the highest percentage listed is 22% + Rs.15,000 per vehicle. It seems the same for 10 seater, more than 7 seater & motor cars.

Maruti Eeco is the other vehicle with 5 & 7 seat options. 7-seater costs about Rs.17K more than Rs.3.14 lakh 5 seater - same spec (about 5.5% increase)

Re: First pics: Mitsubishi outlander 7 seater

The sixth and the seventh seats look like after market fitment, and very skinny. My guess is they would feel like benches at the back when seated. I would have thought they would do a decent enough job of putting something equivalent of a Safari (like jump seats) which is better as compared to this.

The 1L price reduction could be across the board, as when i was talking to them they did had some discounts which was close to 1L on the OTR price.

Re: First pics: Mitsubishi outlander 7 seater

It looks like a very bad modification. Longer head rests would mean pathetic view while reversing. Also, they are selling the petrol variants and the dealer network has still not improved. Are they targetting better sales with this improvement?
