Hey Guyz,

I have been following news about the New CRV for the past few months now but never was convinced enough by any "news" by any source.

Now as the assurance about the news being strong and the new CRV due soon, i think this will be the new CRV.....

Every discussion about the CRV leads to the third picture. But i find it hard to believe that Honda is planning to make such a beautiful car look so stupid and timid.

Please tell us if somebody knows more...please:

Thanks

IMHO the first two pics look better than the third one. WHY does honda TRANSFORM good looking cars into horrible looking things ??? WHY ???

The front looks horrible the rest of the car is ok.

Looks like a comperssed Cayenne. The original looks were better imho.

Dear Mods,

Could you please: change the name of this thread from "Hands Crv" to HONDA CRV..

I made a typing error and dint revise it.

Redcandle

They should change the name from Honda CRV to Honda CRY.. pple will cry after seeing this.

the first one is much better than the third one

Hope they don't release this ugly thing. The current one looks much better.

They're not gonna release that car for sure. It looks like a Hyundai man!!! LOL

Even the first pics of the new Civic were a disappointment but things changed as it reached production stage. Honda knows they can't sell a CRV that's gonna look like that. Loom at the headlight on the test vehicle, it's flat...... and not curved like the one in the 3rd pic.

PS : Did yo'l notice, the cover on the car makes you think they might be testing a BMW. The front grill and the headlights say it all.

Thats exactly what i thought.... The car design is not american, european or japanese. Its like one of those hybrid/electric cars!! like Honda Insight.

But it could well be that Honda sticks to the CRV image and make it passenger/pedestrian/environment friendly, it might just follow the Honda Insight design which shares the same qualities.

The wheels are shouting "I am a Honda" as well....

Another thing i'd like to add is that the track they're testing the CR-V on, happens to be the 21km Nurburgring.

Now why would they want to test a sedate softroader on such a damanding track? I've got my fingers crossed. Hehe.

Finally, the first pictures of the mysterious/controversial NEW CRV!!!!!!

Now this latest spy shot captures a prototype CR-V closely following a prototype Acura RDX as they both undergo testing in Australia. The overall size and shape of the two vehicles is quite similar, but there are numerous differences. Disguise on the side of the CR-V make it look to have side windows similar in shape to the RDX, but a closer look reveals that the side windows of the CR-V curve downward towards the rear, giving the windows a profile shape quite different from the RDX. Also note that the CR-V continues to have its taillights mounted vertically, running up the pillar on either side of the rear window, while the RDX has more traditional horizontal lights mounted across the tail just below the rear window.
One big difference from prior CR-V is that the spare tire is no longer mounted outside on the tail. This has allowed the new CR-V to have a true hatchback design instead of using a horizontal-swinging door. The prototype CR-V also has just one exhaust pipe at the tail, instead of the dual pipes of the RDX. The CR-V is expected to continue using a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, but with the output upped slightly to 170 hp. It will not offer the turbocharged engine found in the RDX.
Inside the CR-V will continue to have two rows of seats, with a capacity of five people. It will be slightly shorter and lower than before, but a bit wider. The Honda CR-V is expected to be introduced in September as a 2007 model.-Hidden Image

The first picture is from the australian edition of WHEELS magazine......

Hi EVERYONE,

As you would have probably noticed by looking closely at the first picture that car has got similar design as posted above in this thread.

The car for some reason does not look that as ugly as it looked in those initial impressions of the car. But I have to say that the silver camouflage window lining looks better than the final "curvy" C pillar would be.....

I really do expect and wish the car will turn out to be decent looking.

Thanks
Redcandle

it actually looks like a mini Q7...it would probably look close to the design of the Acura RDX

btw the car in front is the acura RDX and the car behind is the CRV...the CRV will cont to have the lights vertical unlike the RDX..i hope we get the RDX in india rather than the CRV..

agree: The new CRV isn't what i was expecting from Honda. I think they are better off launching the RDX in India. Least we wouldn't have to look at the CRV.rl:
