i read the latest BBC top gear issue. which had a comparison between santro xing \alto \indica xeta and it indicated to me that they recommend indica xeta among them .
the comparison between their fuel economy
Alto 13.53
xing 12.66

Xeta and Xing more Fuel efficient than Alto!? I mean, come on... we are not fools to believe such ridiculous stats.
And i thought OD was the worst auto magazine..

I feel that the xeta is a better buy compared to the competition. At the same price, you get a big engine, spacious and beige interiors, tachometer, more power, decent ride quality, cheap spares and fit and finish levels which are miles better than all the previous indicas manufactured. The fuel economy figures of the xeta are pretty accurate as other magazines like overdrive and BS motoring have reported a combined economy of 12-13 kmpl.

If it's the 800 cc Alto and not the 1.1 lt, then its mileage is definitely 18+ kms/lt in city.

yup its 800cc alto bcoz 1.1litre model was phased out 2 yrs or so ago.one of my collegemate get around 16 -17 without ac in city & he is complaining abt low fe.So i guess usual fe should be much more.though this is only a guess.
But one thing is sure that alto will anyday provide u more than 15kmpl.

there is something beyond stats, sometimes a car that looks good on paper is not that good on road, same is the case for this comparo, the xeta is a terrific value and a better overall car compared to xing and alto(i agree the engine is not as good but its not bad either).

It maybe a promotion for xeta but Xeta is certainly better than the xing and alto. Period.

better space, more comfort, more power, better build, good FE(competition is certainly better) and VFM.

I test drove the xeta.... though not a long one just abt enuf to know the car and engine. The engine is surprisingly refined... infact can be compared to the santro and almost certainly better than a Wagon R. The car is also good part throttle, torque is great at normal driving speed, you can drive on torque alone.... will help in deriving some great fuel average figures. The gearshift is crap (drove it immediately after driving a santro)... and the quality is appaling. The aircon switches are tacky, the dashboard is one single lump of bad quality plastic, the central console is horrid... the part where aircon switches are located already had some gaps and creaks. The things where quality has improved are beading around doors and speedo console. Well at that price and with competition like santro and alto.... this has to the number one choice though.
TATA.... better late than never.

Xeta Price and EMI??

Hi there...

Can any one tel me what is the rate of interest dealers charge on financing passenger cars (like Indica Xeta) for period of 36 Months EMI.

I heard that Indica V2 Xeta is around 3.4 Laks on road in Hyderabad, would like to know the rate of interest (on 3 year finance)

If anyone has taken Xeta or Marina recently (2006) let me know the EMI's and the Rate of Interest.

Thanks in adavance
