This caaaar looks premium! Loved it in black. Proper marketing should help renault sell it like hot cakes!

Renault, Post the duster, you have increased our expectations; please do not let us down with some absurd pricing!

Re: Renault Scala

Motoroids have also put up this:

Renault Scala Caught Undisguised. Launch Soon. | Motoroids

Hope someone from TBHP was also invited for the media launch, looks like somewhere in Punjab (Ludhiana or Amritsar... IMO).

It's the Chandigarh airport as far as I can tell.

Looks definitely better than the Sunny. Renault is taking some smart steps it seems. They got the footfall with the Duster, and now that people are aware of the brand, many more will be willing to go for the Scala than the Sunny.

They have opened a showroom even in Bathinda where the likes of Honda have not arrived.

Re: Renault Scala

Yeah you are right that is the Chandigarh airport.

I think the Scala looks way better than the Sunny, it has got a slightly more aggressive look to it. Hopefully Renault has a better media campaign for the Scala. The "caaaar" adverts very really really annoying!

Re: Renault Scala

It is the Chandigarh airport and the media drive is scheduled for this weekend from Chandigarh to Shimla and back. TBHP participation is expected.

Re: Renault Scala

Looks way better than the Sunny. Would like to wait and watch how the market receives this product. Hope it fairs better than the pulse.

There is a viral thing happening about the sunny in my part of the world (Coimbatore). Every 3rd car I look on the road is a sunny.

Re: Renault Scala

It definitely looks much better and macho than Sunny, though I believe this one is worth desiring forRenault - HOME

It would be interesting to see how Scala CVT performs in comparison to City and Vento.

Front looks very aggressive, better than Sunny & if only looks are to be considered, it can easily outsell Sunny.
In this pic the rear looks like a ripoff of the Merc S Class. Im not complaining

Re: Renault Scala

Looks a bit better than the Sunny certainly. The alloys are much nicer looking too.

I'm really curious to see whether they do a "renault" on this too and botch it up somehow by getting weird variants etc. If I were in their shoes, I'd tinker as little as possible with Nissan's proven success recipe for the Sunny. It truly offers VFM at both variant levels in the diesel and even if Renault decides to charge a premium, I hope they don't add their two bits of knowledge to spoil a perfectly well packaged product.

Re: Renault Scala

I was speaking to a friend of mine who works with Renault India Ltd and he said that the Duster was a make or break product for them. With the walk-in's which they have received for Duster they are sure that the sales of their other product would also increase and not all would be interested in buying a Duster. Anyways the styling looks far better in the Scala than the Sunny. But what disappoints me is the interior styling which remains the same. Atleast in the case of Vento & Rapid , they did make some changes to the dashboard. Its just being lazy in terms of making changes to the interiors.

Re: Renault Scala

So from the reviews it seems you get Renault handling added to Nissan's reliability - addresses the weak points of both brands. An ideal combination?

Re: Renault Scala

^^^ Not necessarily... for the following issues:
1. Good ride does not mean good handling (though can be confused with handling). It means absorbent ride which is comfortable for the occupants, as it keeps the effects of bad roads at bay, but not necessarily give the car corner carving ability.

2. There is more than just the reliability... the ownership cost & capabilities A.S.S., which IMO can make a break or break a brand. Fiat & Maruti-Suzuki are two contrasting examples of this. Moreover. Renault & Nissan haven't shared the dealership network/ A.S.S., so you can say that visibility of Renault is on the lower/ fainter side, when compared to Nissan even, the word of mouth publicity is not bad though, after the Duster.
