Sportz ABS is the top minus one version and it doesn't have a rear wiper. Its about 8 lakhs OTR in Bangalore, I am sure they could get rid of some of the gadgets inside and get some useful safety equipment for a change. I know the market doesn't care, this car sells for its toys, anything else you get is just incidental.

@avira_tk; Hyundai have always been good in providing creature comforts, and are therefore (excuse this gender bias) very popular with the fair sex. Technically, then a middle of the road. I found that in the AT rear discs are standard, while in the AT DZire they are not. Well for the 2L Premium (probably accounted for by the Imported Gamma 1.4engine) they should!

Does the Sportz ABS CRDi cost 8L or petrol?

It already has ABS and drivers airbag so what additional safety equipment? If they put a passenger airbag in the Sportz they may as well stop the Asta variant as the Asta will have only start/stop button with keyless entry, rear wiper/washer and auto headlights as extra.

Compared to a Swift ZDi that costs 8.3 lakhs (in bangalore) the sportz is a much better option imo. Yes you lose the rear wiper/washer and passenger airbag but you get the following above the Swift ZDi:

- Auto dimming mirrors
- parking sensors with rear camera
- rain sensing wipers
- electric folding mirrors
- bluetooth audio
- auto folding mirrors
- clean air climate control (with cabin ionizer filter)

The swift ZDI costs 7.71 lakhs OTR delhi and the i20 CRDI asta a whopping Rs. 8.5 lakhs. A diesel TD car should arrive tomorrow then should post something here.

The CRDi will cost around 8L in Bangalore, they could have provided a rear wiper from the Magna onwards. The model lineup reflects markets needs and rear wiper/defogger aren't high on the agenda for the majority, most people would just fold the ORVM anyway. The wiper is a big deal during monsoon, although you can do without it in Bangalore.

The i20 is priced high enough and no, I am not complaining about the kit, the fact is that if you want ABS and rear wiper/washer plus defogger the onroad price will be around 80k more than the ZDI, enough reason to reconsider diesel, however petrol is still in the reckoning.

Folks, Just check out the prices, it has gone up from 40 to 60 k INR. CRDi ASTA costs 9.14 L OTR bangalore. CRDi Sportz is 8.58L (Source Trident Hyundai website)

Too steep a hike even after considering the gizmos added.

Saw 3 Fluidic i20s today, being moved to dealer stockyard. It looks good in darker (grey, black & probably bronze) shades, but in lighter shades (white, silver, etc.), it looks too soft & a wannabe rather than a flamboyant alpha as compared to other Fluidic Hyundais.

& the new wheel covers are as worse as the old (non-Fluidic) i10... the new i10 got better wheel covers .

But, why can't they use dual reverse light and accommodate rear fog lamps in the cluster. Bad design I guess. Twin reverse lamp will be a definite boon in dark areas.

Since this is a legal matter too, I would like to consult our lawyer before carrying out the replacement. The recurring steering rattle issue was one of the issues for which we filed the case against Hyundai. Don't want to go through the same "vicious circle" again if the rattle crops up again. To make matters worse, they are not ready to give any to the point guarantee that the rattle will be fixed this time after the rack is changed.

If it is fixed, I shall be the happiest as it would mean an end to a three year struggle with Hyundai to get a fix for the issue. But then, with them still beating around the bush over whether the issue will be fixed permanently or not, I am skeptical.

+1 to that. While reversing my i20 into my poorly lit porch, the reverse light does help in illuminating both sides of the car to park it safely. Why do they have to resort to such cheap deletions? The previous gen i20 had twin reverse lamps.

Another very stupid omission I find is the B pillar has not been blackened. While the export i20s have the B-pillar blackened, the Indian i20s don't. I thought atleast in this facelift, they would blacken the B-pillars. It does make the car look good.
