Hey raj_5004 great initiative of starting this thread. IMO this thread can go straight into the what car section so potential buyers can glance through the options and their pros and cons and take a decision rather than starting multiple threads.

Very nice compilation. An Excel spreadsheet version will be very handy for a quick comparison.
Rated five stars.

Swift based SUV - now that's interesting. I guess it will be like a beefed up Ertiga, kind of a mini Vitara?!
Of course it should be allowed.

I believe it will be slightly larger than the Swift, but will be under 4000mm just so that Maruti keep costs down. And we'd be safe to assume a OTR price of 10-12 lakhs.

Hi raj_5004

Great work. Totally appreciate it. Though just one suggestion - if you could also use MS excel and post the comparo in a spreadsheet. It would definitely help making comparisons in specific areas (like specific querying ) between the different SUV/MUV's a little more manageable.

Thanks

On popular demand (!!!), I will start working on the excel sheet soon.

Ohh, so it will be a competitor to the Rio, upcoming mini Xylo and the likes. Nice...

Well, I wouldn't say that it's a competitor to the Rio. Maybe. But the Rio feels like a whole segment lower.

I'd say that it would be right up against the Duster and EcoSport.

Since it's based on the Swift, we could expect some good features and equipment, not to mention the incredible 1.3 MJD and probably the 1.4 K14 petrol mill too.

Maruti, IMO is looking to design and engineer a successor to the wonderful Gypsy and this new SUV might replace the Suzuki Jimny mini-SUV worldwide. Maruti may even decide to export it from India.

Request raj_5004 to revive this thread with the new offerings; this time, you can tag this to the year (now, 2013). Mods, can you please facilitate? (not sure how though)

Re: All Indian SUVs & MUVs : Compared!

Awesome compilation Raj. Very useful to-the-point, no non-sense comparo.

And, as Car-go mentioned, there were many face-lifts & newer models launched recently like Ecosport, Duster, Terrano, Safari Storme etc.

It would be extremely useful and make a great comparison tool for confused buyers (like me who landed accidentally on this thread while searching for comparisons ) if it can be updated by including all these current models too.
