Indian Army needs to buy around 30,000 vehicles in a phased manner, and that's the reason we see enduring and extensive trial/road tests of both Scorpio and Safari.

At the moment one can spot few Stomes as CO vehicles in the Indian Army, but Let's see who wins the contract.

As a kid, I used to wonder why they kept playing 'test' matches only and when will they be playing the 'real' match.. :-)
This Scorpio testing reminds me of those childhood days!

Guys any spotting of the Bolero undergoing the tests?

Its also a 4WD meant to compete in the Indian Army requisition for 30,000 units of 4WD vehicles required to replace the ageing fleet of Amby/Gypsy as CO vehicles.

What is M&M's plan? To keep on testing till we run out of fossil fuel? For heaven's sake launch the vehicle. Enough testing for a face-lifted version.

As far as the spy pics go, that doesn't look upmarket at all, or maybe a poor choice of color and trim.

The interiors looks much much better than the existing Scorpio.

Any idea on whether AC Vents are being offered for all 3 rows of passengers ? I hope they retain Captain seat options too

re: 2014 Mahindra Scorpio Facelift (W105). EDIT: Now launched at Rs. 7.98 lakhs

Will Mahindra listen to few suggestions & incorporate them if they find it worth?

# Please do something about the A/C. We have got two 2WD VLX's on 4th Feb '14 and in this summer, the mid seat occupants barely get any cool air, I dread about the third row occupants. Why not add a roof a/c like Tata Safari? Or put a bigger compressor, but this is something which needs Mahindra's attention.

# Ride quality. This will be a mixed bag as I know from a friend that they are working on it. Fingers crossed.

# Rear design - If something can be done, well & good.

# Clutch issue - Many reports on Team BHP about this. Hope they have rectified as there might be bump in power.

# Electricals* - Sometimes, a power window refuses to go down, sometimes the remote lock refuses to work, the headlamps have gone kaput. I have really appreciated Storme's headlamps, if they can give something like that...

And if Mahindra is listening, you guys can add more

* Save for the remote issue (twice or thrice) other issues haven't bugged the new Scorpios yet. And both are close to 15,000 kms (individually)

God only knows. BTW I heard Hormazd in Autocar show on TV that the new Scorpio will be lower than the present model so as to improve handling and ride. However the ground clearance appears to be unchanged in the varios spy pics.

# I am almost 80% sure the AC will be straight lift off from Xylo or XUV and we should see Xylo type roof AC Vents for all 3 rows. This part sharing would also benefit Mahindra (Cost Saving).
# I too am waiting for a less bouncy ride. I should not be able to feel every imperfection on the road.
# The Scoop pics show the same rear only with LED (probably) tail lamps
# Electricals and Remote will probably remain the same. At the very best, we can expect the "learnings" from XUV incorporated into the Scorpio. There will be initial niggles for sure but would be different from XUV or something totally different.

I hope they take some more time or else the mango people will be testing the front CV for them. Or maybe even carrying it back to the workshop after it just slides out and falls off at highway speeds.

If the bharathautos.com image anything to go by the reality, I feel its better for me to get the current version. The XUVisation of Scorpio is like beautifying an eagle like a cuckoo. I prefer the current look and feel the fluidic design adaption of Hyundai in cars is best left out in the SUVs.
