Looks like they borrowed the headlamps of Next-Gen-i20 (the outgoing version) and placed them on the Scorpio.

And as everyone is asking here - why those handles at the rear? I just remember the politicos for whom the black-cats hang on to the SUV holding onto such handles.

I do not like it one bit!!

The more horrible part of the story is Mahindra's new promo;
"We are sure that you will book it even before seeing it" or something in those lines.
And there are so many of them who would dislike it the way I did.

This to me is a sorrowful excuse of a facelift.

C'mon Mahindra, you could do better.

oookay.. that looks fugly

what's with the orange and blue at the back? the rear two-tone door looks nice though, with the brushed metal finish. like the other models before this, this one will grow on us.

let's wait and watch

edit: the alloys looks fresh (compared to the one next to it). would be nice if they're going to be used on the models which come with the alloys option.

I think guys are overreacting, an S10 variant in a dark shade will appear good.

It would have been nice had they wrapped up the D-Pillar in black.

Storme is more handsome to look at, in that signature bronze color.

That is chrome lining inside to give the Scorpio a "premium look".

That looks like the lights in a disco. May be they'll blink randomly under braking.

2. Is the inside barrel in the headlight a projector housing?

Totally disappointed with this ugly duckling. The only design element i liked in the soon to be dead scorpio is the front styling and now that too has gone bad. I wonder what was the designer thinking when he/she designed the front end.
The rear looks funny. I wonder whats the blue element in the rear lights are for and also the handles on both sides.

I am not impressed. The front looks like after-market customisation. What is with that bonnet gap? Is bonnet not press-locked or what? If it is then that almost half inch gap looks horrendous. The rear got Safari Storme treatment. The tail-lamps are smaller and those garish chrome surrounds are unnecessarily big. I like the present Scorpio better. but I hate its bland and eye-sore dashboard. I hope newer one at least has that sorted. I need to check out the vehicle in metal. I hope it looks better in real than in pics.

Yes, those are the DRLs. It is a tube type LED used for DRLs

Yes it has a projector housing setup which is towards the grill similar to a fortuner.

Atleast in white it looks like Yikes! to me. Hope it looks much better in person or atleast in another color...

The headlights look regular ones and not projector types. Just that it is smoked.

The front looks nice , but the rear looks ugly and overdone .
IMHO the SUV will look good in black color though .

Can't imagine this desgin in the new blue color ,I have a feeling it will look very loud and way too flashy .

Safari storme looks more classy ,up market and elegant compared to this attempt from Mahindra .

Kudos to Mahindra for ruining a decent looking vehicle. It looks hideous and an editing gone wrong on MS paint by a 10th class kid whose internet stopped working and he had nothing else to do but experiment on a car. I still love the initial shape of Scorpio, subtle , masculine and very distinctive when it came. Off the late, designers have really lost the thought of doing something genuine to a vehicle. So many years and this is what they came up with.Give a scorpio to a local garage wala, aspirirng to be a car modifier, trust me he will do better.
