The difference in on road pricing between 4x4 Scorpio S10 and XUV W8 FWD (with discounts) is less than 40,000, not even a lakh. Hence, indeed Scorpio seems overpriced when compared to a XUV.

Re: 2014 Mahindra Scorpio Facelift (W105). EDIT: Now launched at Rs. 7.98 lakhs

Had a back to back TD of the new Scorpio and the XUV today.

Having great expectations about a more pliant ride in the new Scorpio, must say that I was quite disappointed. The vertical movement that your body undergoes on a rough patch of road is quite a bit and will surely become uncomfortable on a long drive. Just for reference, my current ride is Logan. Also the interiors simply didn't feel like a million rupee product.

But then the XUV ride was an equally opposite experience. We were all simply bowled over by this monster's ride quality. And had the XUV niggles thread been not there, probably I would have immediately booked one. Time to start some serious research on the XUV niggles thread I guess.

Most of the niggles have been fixed. There seems to be way too many xuv owners on the forum who can vouch for it. The car is a looker and i believe in a year or two we can expect some upgrades as its already 2 years old.

XUV presents total bang for the buck in the under 20 suv category.

Do your research on ownership. Also check the storme when your at it.

As expected, it looks more “matured” in black upfront. The side profile too is fine, especially those 17”s give it some character indeed. But still can’t digest the rear, even in black not that the one on my Scorp[2009] is a head turner. On the ride quality, the online TD reviews is a mixed bag with all of them agreeing on the slight improvement with only a few claiming anything “significant”.

Does anyone know the actual difference in price between the ongoing models and that of the NG Scorpio ?

Re: 2014 Mahindra Scorpio Facelift (W105). EDIT: Now launched at Rs. 7.98 lakhs

I got a chance to explore the new Scorpio at the Chennai airport. While the interior quality has improved, the appalling lack of fit and finish is disappointing in a 14lakh rupee car. This one is worse than the Ambassador in some areas! Two pics are attached: The first is of a plastic cladding on the LHS rear door. It is coming off in a new vehicle! The next one is of the unpolished rear hinge which has layers of rough paint.
The rear space has not changed.
I had high expectations about the Scorpio but even my 2010 tata nano is better finished than this.

The paper ads that appeared today were like "... And can kick up a Storm on the move..." That was so cheeky and below the belt M&M ad team !

Totally agree. I had a chance to look at new Scorpio & nowhere it feels like a ' new generation' car. Doors felt flimsy & light weight, seats were basic & totally flat. Fit and finish was inconsistent & the plastic quality was cheap. Storme, on the other hand felt solid in comparison.

I had high hopes from Scorpio but didn't even bother to do a test drive after looking at it, ended up booking Yeti ( old variant).

I am waiting for the team bhp review of the new Scorpio 2014 . It would be worth waiting for the same before further commenting on whether the Scorpio is worth its price or value for money

Re: 2014 Mahindra Scorpio Facelift (W105). EDIT: Now launched at Rs. 7.98 lakhs

Huge Gap in terms of Pricing between the W4 and W6 variants. And more so in a place called Bangalore, courtesy the RTO charges are highest post 10 L. I wanted to go for a Scorp W4, but with all the safety features missing not sure if i would go for this one.

Can someone tell me what can a Scorp W6+ do that a XYLO H4 ABS BS4 cannot do ?

For a change it has the same suspension, under body, engine and gear box and it is priced much lower than a S6+ Scorpio and 2.39 L cheaper on Road in my city.

Re: 2014 Mahindra Scorpio Facelift (W105). EDIT: Now launched at Rs. 7.98 lakhs

Truly agree with many BHPians in the thread. XUV would be a more sensible buy especially the XUV W6, which might come for a little less than the top scorpio variant. And the worst part is that the W6 offers all features in the S10, except the touchscreen infotainment. similar story when you compare the XUV w4 with the Scorpio S8. But should M&M really care? They'll be happy as long as the customer stays within the family.

Re: 2014 Mahindra Scorpio Facelift (W105). EDIT: Now launched at Rs. 7.98 lakhs

It feels odd to see the company supplying official accessories that obviously impair pedestrian safety like front guards or even the rear guard which will have impact getting transferred to the chassis instead of the body.
Come stuff like chrome package is fine but while the guards do look good they are not a good idea.

New Scorpio Accessories.

The .pdf was heavy to upload. Also missed out some repeat for rear guard and miscellaneous items.

Look at those ugly front guards! Why would M&M want to introduce those as part of their accessories? The beauty of the car is lost with those front guards. Most of the other accessories seem to be o.k.
